just rebuilt the carbs again and it runs a little better but still doesent want to go on the bottom end with the chock in after its warmed up i have 280 mains 25 pilots and needles on 4th clip with air screws 1.75 out it works a little better now but still stumbles on the bottom it will idle but then dies when trying to touch the throttle. i have the fuel mixed at 32:1but the silencers slacked off and there is a far bit of black on the silencers i tightened them up and tried again. but do u think i need to bump the pilots up and change plugs and lean it out a bit? thanks

its a toomey t6 kit stock except boost bottle 1250 feet above sea level its real cold like minus 35 celcius uni air filter with air box vents and no snorkel and stock carbs plugs look a bit rich and is also blowing a bit of black

I would try the 30 pilots and your main sounds pretty low especially for that temp. But all bikes run diff. I would change the plugs put 30 pilots in it see how it does and most important do a WOT plug check because that main seems low to me but I have never had T-6s before. You can always try pulling the choke alittle while that stumble is happening see if it gets better. If not try pulling the air box lid and see if it gets better that would give you a better idea of where you stand as far as lean or rich.

I had a similar problem when getting mine running right. Screw in both air screw all the way and if it runs better than jump up to a 27.5 pilot jet. You are most likely going to need a bigger pilot but you might be able to get away with your air screw all the way it or like .5 turns out.

hey guysthe bike does run good with the air screws out .5 of a turn out but it idles funny after running it real hard it revs up high but if i give it a shot of gas it will idle down do i need to sync the carbs?

If you rev the bike up does it take a while to return yo idle? If it does, check for a air leak. Spray carb cleaner around the carbs and reeds with the bike running and see if the motor idels up.

Any of you guys actually read his post? he still has an airbox with vent holes cut in...

280 mains in that temp are close....

Work the air screws. Warm the bike up, turn the air screws on both all the way in, then 1/2 turn out. Wait 20 seconds for the adjustment to take effect, go for a ride.

Repeat this process until you get the highest idle. It is critical the bike is fully warmed up, and you wait 20 to 30 seconds after you make the adjustments to the air screw. Go 1/2 turn at a time out on each....then fine tune it with 1/4 turns once you're close.

Since you said it runs good with .5 turns out....get 27.5 pilots and set the air screws at 1.5 turns out.

Not coming down to idle are only a few things, throttle cable/slides handing, improperly adjusted carbs or an air leak.

Like I said I have no experence with T-6s but at negitive 40 degrees with T-5s I would be running alot more then 280 mains even if I only had holes in the top of the airbox. Most guys I know are running 280s on 100 degree days during the summer with the same set up except T-5s and air box holes. So a 140 degree diffence in air temp has to count for something. But the like I said T-6s could be way different than most pipes and diff bikes all jet differently.

HOLD UP...stop the press. NEGATIVE 35 celsius....I just reread that. That's like 31 below Farenheight....

You're right, my fault....I did not realize there was a - in front of that....sheesh.

On your own dude....you gotta throw a lot of fuel at that motor at that cold and good luck getting it to start even with the chokes...
