check your compression.

The link above will tell you everything you need to know about Rs. IMO that is alittle high priced for little mods it does have on it. Prices for these Rs widely change depending on what part of the country you are in though. The one in my sig I picked up for 3K everything is aftermarket besides the frame and tranny. So imo if you are willing to wait for a better deal they are out there you just have to search.

A couple friends and I are heading out thursday night. We are staying till sunday. Should be a great time 90 degs and sunny.

I'll be out there Saturday. Unfortunately the banshee is not put back together yet. So the wifes raptor is going to have to do. Its not a drag bike but it is still fun to mess with. I will probably park right by pole 4 like always. Here is some pics of what im riding and driving a white Ford F350 with wyoming plates. Cya you all Saturday.

If your buying new front shocks your going to buy them already valved for your weight, riding style, and what ever length your extended a-arms are. Best thing to do is call a company and tell them what you have and they will ask you a whole bunch a questions and set your shocks up right. I am sure some of the site sponsors can hook you up with what you need. TCS is a good company with decent prices IMO

all shocks stock,+2+1, +3+1 are the same length they are just sprung and valved diff for the diff leverage that gets put on them by longer a-arms. When you start to get into long travel a-arms that is when your shock is going to be a diff length for the long travel. But for the run of the mill non long travel extended a-arms your shocks are the same length as your stockers. Now for your swingarm if you extend it out it buts more leverage on your rear shock and it needs to be revalved with a after market company like TCS for the + whatever you do

I ran a river bed for years that had quite abit of water with the airbox lid off k&n with outerwear and adaptor with no prob. Just cant haul ass through water like a jet ski lol. I would not suggest pods with any water at all

I will be very surprised if this not the last summer for atvs at pismo the land lease ends in june for over half the riding area and if the state does not lease it back from the county then I am afraid the tree huggers and the county will have there way and close the dunes to vehicles This is probably the most important summer in oceanos history as far as the fight for access.

cross during low tide in the winter and you almost never have a problem. true fully the video was not that bad even that 2 wheel drive truck made it through I have seen it much worse with alot of dumb asses losing there 30 grand rigs to mother nature. We got some rain this week so I am sure it is up some but not impassable. I am planning on going out there next weekend and will let you know what it looks like.

Is anyone camping that weekend? Me and the wife are thinking of camping that weekend. We usually camp around pole 4. If anyone else is camping let us know we are family oriented campers I have a 3 year old and a 8 year old that ride a 50cc but still like to party after they go to bed.

I did some research and I guess it has something to do with the motors exhaust duration on a two stroke as what PSI in the cylinder is made according to there compression ratio with the exhaust duration and what octane fuel you need to run in a engine. A 250 single cylinder 2 stoke comes stock from the factory with 160 psi on pump gas so running pump at 175psi on pump gas dont sound to far fetched but a banshee comes stock with I think 6.5 to 1 ratio with in turn with the stock exhaust duration equals 125 psi stock on pump gas and 150 on pump gas dont sound to far fetched. So I guess I answered my own question but I still would like to now more about this exhaust duration thing in relationship to psi and octane requirements if anyone has any insight. thanks
-
This might sound like a dumb question but what is it about the shee engine that you cant run very high compression before detonation on pump gas? Is it the timing? the way the cylinder is layed out? 2 cylinders have something to do with it? What I get is from the site is that 150psi or so is the limit for most people running pump gas but other 2 stroke engines 150psi is low compression on my 250r I run 178 psi in the cylinder with pump gas. I need some educating lol Thanks

No Heel Guards, Who Doesn't Run Em
trapp350 replied to 350BANSHEE350's topic in General Banshee Discussion
If you trail ride IMO I would leave them on. Most guys that take them off are in the dunes to save weight or make there bike look better. I run with them off on mine but it is a pure dune bike with a ext swingarm so the rear tires are quite a bit back there. If I were you I would go one step further and by nerfs with build in heel guards for max protection on the trail plus no problems running on the mx track when you want to. -
Running on 1 cylinder
trapp350 replied to screamningthrottlebanshee's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
If it was running only 1 cylinder 50% of the time you have to narrow it down to either fuel issue, compression, or spark then work the problem. Sence the dealer already checked most of your electrical I would start with the other stuff. What does your spark plugs look like? Do a compression check in both cylinders. Clean your carbs and check your float level one of your carbs could be adjusted wrong and your running your float bowl dry. I would imagine the dealer ohmed out all your electrical components but who knows I would do that to if I where you. But like I said I would check out the fuel system and compression then rule them out and then work on the electrical gremlin -
Running on 1 cylinder
trapp350 replied to screamningthrottlebanshee's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
Would it only get spark to both cylinders 50% of the time or run on both cylinders 50% of the time? -
Its good for 1 year Jan1st to Jan1st anywhere in cali Here is a link to the venders and dealers that sell them in and around california. link to PDF list at bottom of link posted. http://ohv.parks.ca.gov/

They sell them at the dealers not all of them have them though. I think there is a state website that says the dealers that sell them at. I buy mine from the honda dealer in lompoc cali so I know they have them. I have never been asked for identification at that dealer but I have never bought from a diff one so I don't know what is actually required. When you buy the sticker it requires no paper work at all you just give them 20 dollars and they give you a sticker. When I bought one the first year I lived here I thought they would at least want your VIN number and a name and address but nope you dont need anything. I am a non resident though so if they ever questioned me I have proof that I am a non resident but like I said I have never been questioned and I have been checked at many places all around cali for the last 4 years.

I know if I was going to do one I would probably use a ninja 650r motor that is probably what you got. It is a parallel twin like the banshee and has about the same size to it but a little taller and puts out decent power. I own one of these bikes but it is a 2007 model and just cant bring myself to take the engine out but if I end up totaling it one of these days I know where that engine is going
-
I know non resident California stickers did not go up I just bought some still 20 dollars apiece. Thats typical california screw the guy that lives there with higher fees but the guy that comes and visits gets off cheaper. When I buy a non resident one no ranger or dealer has ever questioned me weather I was a resident or not and I have been here for almost 4 years now plus there is no red sticker green sticker just one sticker for any year bike any time of the year any where.
-
I dont have a drag banshee either but I would love to meet some of you in person. That is if I have the shee back together by then if not I can give you alittle 4 stoke competition lol maybe not competition but it still a good time.
-
Depends on your elevation and the rest of your bikes set up. On average for sea level 20 thousands is pump gas safe.

300 seems high to me for a bike running with the lid on but I have never had DMCs. If I would guess I would say 270-280 main and 25-27.5 pilot. Most guys that are running 300+ mains are guys running with the lid off or pods. When I had stock carbs I think I was running 310 mains 27.5 pilot with no airbox just pods and Fattys. Everybike jets differently and you need to do plug chops to figure it out on your own. Run her at WOT for a stretch shut her down with the kill switch pull in the clutch and come to a stop pull the plug. If its black go down if its white or light go up. Once you got it close start doing plug chops to get it perfect.
