fitz18 Posted January 9, 2008 Report Posted January 9, 2008 Ok so now im beyond pissed off. :shoothead: My bike has been rebuilt and i have been trying to get the jetting sorted on and off for 2months. The pipes at the bottom of the carbs were leaking quite bad so i stripped them down and got them cleaned up and it stopped. One pipe stil does it but its not nearly as bad as it was. so now i take the bike out for a rip and there is a tiny bog in the low end. Its not really bad but stil its not perfect. Once i get her opened up the bike is unreal. Anyway I put my hand over the exhausts before i took it for a rip and there was stuf on my hand....im guessing this is petrol? Is this normal? Wat do i do to fix the problem. mods dmc aliens 240mains needle middle clip air screws 1.5out stock pilot k and n in air box with lid on...snorkle removed wiseco pistons in stock bore cylinders with mild port job. Thanks all Quote

What should the gap be? Would that mean that not all the fuel is getting burnt and coming out the exhaust? I thought I was having a float problem or some carb problem that was causing me to run rich but I know my main is good. Any one else? Quote

chevy7398 Posted January 10, 2008 Report Posted January 10, 2008 did you do a plug chop, 240 seems too small for those mods you have listed, you should probally be around a 260, 270 at least Quote

brian Posted January 10, 2008 Report Posted January 10, 2008 if it is leaking out of the tubes when sitting still, you may want to recheck the float setting. sounds like the float bowl may be overflowing. that can also cause the low end bog you are experiencing. "all of the fuel" never gets burnt in a 2 stroke engine. that is why the friggin tree huggers have gotten our beloved 2 stroke engines banned from further sale here in the good ol USA. you might be having a bit more unburnt fuel in the pipes due to the rich condition on the bottom end. that may be whats spraying out. but remember, a byproduct of combustion is water. more so when it is cool and humid. thats why you see steam/water leaking out of tailpipes of cars on cool mornings. riderofthestorm Posted January 10, 2008 Report Posted January 10, 2008 i had the same problem when i fouled plugs,, but check your float height Quote
