NitroTate Posted December 19, 2007 Report Posted December 19, 2007 I'm about to start my rebuild is there any part of it that you guys would like to see me video tape for community use? If so, let me know what parts of the rebuild you would like to see as a how to video. I'm tearing it down to the bare bones, boring, new pistons, rounding off shift star, rewiring, personally powder coating EVERYTHING I can, new reeds etc. etc. This is my first time creating a poll so hope it works... theshee Posted December 19, 2007 Report Posted December 19, 2007 If you have the time and energy to make one, I would say go fir it. There are lots of people that could use that kind of help. Quote

hyperlite33 Posted December 19, 2007 Report Posted December 19, 2007 There is a lot of info about rebuilds on here, but it is all scattered around and you have to spend half your time looing for it. If you could do a teardown and rebuild, that would help a ton of people out! I know BigRed's teardown post helped me a great deal! Quote
NitroTate Posted December 19, 2007 Author Report Posted December 19, 2007 Ok well I'll probably do it but so that I don't spend ALL my time filming... and not working... I need everyone's thoughts on what particular "phases" of the rebuild might be most useful. That way I can plan it out ahead of time and capture everything without having to either miss it or redo it. Let me know what you guys think. Quote
TexasBansheeMan Posted December 19, 2007 Report Posted December 19, 2007 Seeing BigReds Thread I would say Step 1 washing your motor!!!! lol J/K  Quote
bbcmudtruck Posted December 19, 2007 Report Posted December 19, 2007 Hell, I'd probably buy it. Sounds like a good idea. If it was done nice enough, it would probably be a big hit. Maybe you could get some I'll covered models to help you out. That wouldn't hurt sales! Quote
BigRed350x Posted December 19, 2007 Report Posted December 19, 2007 I was going to do the same thing the next time I tore one of mine down completely, its just too damn time consuming to slow down and video/pictures of everything. Go for it if you have the time... - Jared Quote
TJ10 Posted December 19, 2007 Report Posted December 19, 2007 That would be awesome if you took the time to make a video! It wouldn't have to go into great detail or anything...especially on the really basic parts. Just may be explain what you'll be doing, then you could go into more detail on the phases that are a little more complex or where there maybe be something more difficult to understand. Brilliant!! Washburn Posted December 20, 2007 Report Posted December 20, 2007 I was just thinking about this today. I think its a brillant idea. What I figured I would do is every project talk about it before you do it show the parts intact and mention everything in them, then do that cirten project with your cam on a tabel make sure people can see what your doing and work a step or two behind what you would normaly pace yourself at. But there is always a rewind or pause button for people who would buy it. If you do this count me in for at LEASt 2. Definate money maker. Quote
NitroTate Posted December 20, 2007 Author Report Posted December 20, 2007 Honestly I don't know if I would even sell it to tell you the truth... I just wanted to make it to help others out. Maybe sell it if it turned out really nice and professional but really I just planned on hosting it online for fellow shee riders. I have really good video editing software so I may just turn it into a nice production and if someone wanted it on DVD then I might sell it... we'll just have to see how it turns out. Quote
csrmel Posted December 20, 2007 Report Posted December 20, 2007 here is what you should do. take the time to make a decent rebuild video, go through all the steps, make it into a dvd and sell it for $15 like rippen did. you could make a tonne of money. personally i would like to see you focus on intricate things of the rebuild like shims, how to remove grind and reinstall the shift star, etc. i would love to pull my shift star out and grind it down but i don't know how involved it is to get it out. Ok well maybe I'll just plan on doing that then. It will take me a while but I can turn a pretty decent video out. I'll keep you guys updated on progress and please, if you want to see something in particular like the shift star mod, let me know and I'll see what I can do to get it in. Thanks guys!! Quote
zach45 Posted December 20, 2007 Report Posted December 20, 2007 motor tear down and rebuild... case splitting.. Quote
TJ10 Posted December 21, 2007 Report Posted December 21, 2007 Who would vote no on this topic?? They're just gay scrooges. If someone wants to take the time to make a video thats gonna help people out, what's it gonna hurt. The video is obviously not going to benefit someone who tears their motor down everyday. It'll help the ones who come on here asking if it'll hurt their motor to run 33:1 instead of 32:1. (no offense if you're one of them people. everyone has to start somewhere) Quote
