When was the last time you rebuilt it? What kind of compression does it have? Also, what does the plug look like?

I got it last march and the guy said it had a fresh top end ,unsure about compression,as for the plug its dark at the top but not black. I was running 24:1 but found it to be to rich and just recently switched to 32:1.

I have had 3 blasters. sounds like you are either way to rich or its your top end. I ran 32:1 and always use 91 octane. I was jetted anywhere from about a 260 -290 main....open air box wK&N filters and preskins.

thanks for the advice.

I think you might be right.i changed the plug even though it looked fine.and pulled out the reeds and noticed that one side had a small gap and so i fliped it around and now thers no gap Hope fully its better, still havent ridin it.Do you think this would cause me to lose power.the bike feels like the choke is on.

Theres supposed to be a slight gap. I dont have the manual on hand, but are they stock reeds?

first thing that came to mind was going down a bit on your jetting. pick up a few between 220 up to your 280 and youll be good. (for a while id imagine, spares are good to have)

running 32-1 high test with a good oil is always recommended.

my reeds never have gaps they always close fully and almost stick shut a bit when you open em with your finger gently, however a cracked bent chipped or otherwise shitty reed probley could cause a choke on feel
