WALLACE84 Posted October 18, 2007 Report Posted October 18, 2007 Pm Fouledout421. His cubs are powdercoated blue. He said that powdercoating them can damage the nikasil. He was told that after he did it though and nothing happened. He should be able to answer your Qs Quote
375hp banshees Posted October 18, 2007 Report Posted October 18, 2007 I believe 91banshee's are painted also? Quote
06BaNsHeE Posted October 18, 2007 Author Report Posted October 18, 2007 Yea all the Cubs around me are painted black. But I read somewhere that they Like overheat or something and everytime I try and search it says board message. Quote
06BaNsHeE Posted October 18, 2007 Author Report Posted October 18, 2007 ANd online there mostly grey.So i was wondering if it was for a reason Quote
shanYE west Posted October 18, 2007 Report Posted October 18, 2007 (edited) You shouldn't have any problem with them overheating.. Never had a problem with mine. But I'm on alky too.. I was told by cascade that the ovens temps for curing the powder damages the nikasil. So I called millenium about it and they said that temps over 350 changes the molecular stucture or somthing like that in the nikasil and creates waves in the bore. dawarriorman Posted October 21, 2007 Report Posted October 21, 2007 If temperatures over 350 damages the nikasil, then how do they handle the heat of combustion when the engine is running? That just doesn't make sense. Quote
06BaNsHeE Posted October 21, 2007 Author Report Posted October 21, 2007 Yea Just going to paint them black.I shouldnt be overheating anyways with alky Quote
FireHead Posted October 21, 2007 Report Posted October 21, 2007 Yea Just going to paint them black.I shouldnt be overheating anyways with alky I would not assume that just beacaue you are running alcohol for fuel that you cannot overheat your engine. It's actually very easy to do if you wind up being lean, which most people seem to do. :geek: Quote
06BaNsHeE Posted October 21, 2007 Author Report Posted October 21, 2007 Yea I know that but when its dialed in it will run cooler on a 90-100 degree than gas.And Im going to run a fatter pilot..And the rest is going to be Dyno tuned by Nate McCoy and were going to leave it on the safe side. :geek: (Had to put it) Quote

I think the jetting that Nate sets you up with is going to be more then safe for ya.. I'm sure he'll talk to you about it. Quote
