flattrakker Posted October 4, 2007 Report Posted October 4, 2007 okay i was just on the phone with my local builder that i do not do very much business with. he claims "guys in the industry prefer wsm pistons" he gave me no reason but thats what he said.. he also said a bore would go about 80 dollars a cylinder.. anyone know where i can get it done cheaper? im gunna call my local dealer right now and see what they get for a bore. he was also the one that "runs 80:1 in his rz350 and it had no wear what so ever" he is also the reason my engine is in pieces.. haha. well i dont mind becuase i wanted to do some internal work to her anyways. let me know how accurate he is. Yeah thats too much. I use Vito's. They do great work and are reasonable. Ask for Lane. Quote
Snopczynski Posted October 4, 2007 Report Posted October 4, 2007 Wiseco pistons, I thought going rate on a bore job is about $45-$50 a hole. Only reason he would be running 80:1 is probably with amsoil 2 stroke sauce. Quote
06BaNsHeE Posted October 4, 2007 Report Posted October 4, 2007 WSM Pistons are what Nate McCoy uses on his motors.Hell Be using those on my motor Quote
Bansh-eman Posted October 4, 2007 Report Posted October 4, 2007 only oil that you should run 80:! is a full synthetic your bore should go for about 30-40 bucks. and i think you will find that the majority of builders will use weisco pistons. keep away from pro x and namura Quote
flattrakker Posted October 4, 2007 Author Report Posted October 4, 2007 thats what ive heard about pistons the namuras and pro x's... im going to go with wisecos because of their rep. yeah ive also heard around 40 bucks per cylinder for boring.. hes nuts.. im staying away from him. Quote
chevy7398 Posted October 4, 2007 Report Posted October 4, 2007 i got both my cylinders done from grand river racing for 50 bucks total, but i dont know if they are still open Quote
Animalman294 Posted October 4, 2007 Report Posted October 4, 2007 I run wiseco's and have never heard anything bad about their piston's................... Quote
