West Coast Jetting

I just want a general idea on what jetting you guys are running out here.

I'm grabbing a handfull of jets & plugs and working my way down till I hit the spot.

 

My setup: Trail Port, VF3's, K&N Pods, +4 Timing, 12oz Lightened Flywheel, Shaved Head .030.

310's with stock motor and TR-6's. Kevin Herr recommends 340 with port and +6 on timing. Oh and shearer pipes.

I run a 50 poilet in my 421 cub with a 172 main jet. I am at sea level.

On my 06 I run a 50 poilet with a 168 main jet. Still need to do some fine tuning thow.

Both run CEl nedels on midel clip. Mod in sig

Need to know what carbs you are running before a correct guess can be determind.

for a pipe motor air box lid removed and reeds you should be at 300-310 main 27.5 pilot needle 3rd or 4th clip 2 turns out on air screw... tht will get you very close.

Currently on main 27.5 pilot needle 3rd with 300 jets.

I'm going to try 320 now that port job is involved, maybe even go higher and work myself down..

I have t-5's and run 25 pilots, middle clip on the needle and 280 mains. I have my airbox lid on tho. im think about bumping them up to 290 and removing the lid

what does your plug chop look like before the porting? if your a little rich chances are your new port will fall right into where it needs to be.. you "shouldnt" need to go that big for a trail port.

I'm rich & plugs a bit dark.. I agree as you said, but scared to lean it out..

Thought of bumping it up just to make sure then drop down as needed.
