Bansh-eman Posted August 30, 2007 Report Posted August 30, 2007 if they are too small nd you have to force them on it can make them slide off too... Quote
Skithis Posted August 31, 2007 Author Report Posted August 31, 2007 They are for stock carbs..they are also the right size. Quote
theshee Posted August 31, 2007 Report Posted August 31, 2007 Clean out the rubber boot of the pod filter to get any slick oil out of it, and sand it a little with some sand paper. Make sure you clean out the sanding dust from inside the filter before you put if back on, but just roughen it up a little and make sure there is no slick oil inside the boot and on the carb. That should help if from sliding off. Quote
Bansh-eman Posted August 31, 2007 Report Posted August 31, 2007 are you slipping them on just enough to grab the bell of the carb with the clamp? try silding the pod on as far as it will go until you bottom out on the back of the carb, then tighten down the clamp Quote
sa3ood_banshee Posted August 31, 2007 Report Posted August 31, 2007 just do a search on "pods" and ull find sm really helpful stuff. sa3ood Quote
RUDEDAWG Posted August 31, 2007 Report Posted August 31, 2007 I had the exact same problem with my k&n's I just cleaned the oil off of the inside of the outlet and used the stock boot clamps cause they are skinnier, the hose clamps that came with the k&n's were twice as wide as the carb neck so they just slipped right off. The stock clamps work really well! Quote
spike Posted September 1, 2007 Report Posted September 1, 2007 I just rub a little bit of carb cleaner inside the filter flange and slip them on. when i take them off they wont move until a apply force on them with clamps off, also do not overtight them as it will cause the filter to slip off.
