Do you have the flywheel cover off? Is the pickup gap correct. Are all the grounds good? Is there ohm continuity between the coil ground, rear voltage regulator ground and the engine block? Is the kill switch bad? have you jumped it or even unhooked it to check the connector on it?

Im having the exact same problem and I cant make sence of it so I dumped it on my mechanic. I really dont like the fact that I had to go outside of myself to get my banshee running but he has all of the voltage tools and expirence plus it wont kill my wallet cause we work together a few months out of the year but hes so backed up its gonna be a few weeks.

Im intrested to hear the diagnosis here. Ill throw mine up as soon as I find out.

Good luck!

I had this happen to me 3 times....

1st time... the stator was burned through to the body and was making a ground loop. When I took the ground off the frame by the CDI it ran. that's what showed me the problem.

2nd time... the pickup coil (trigger coil) was burned up. no resistance between wires out of it.

3rd time... same problem but the wire broke coming out of the coil casing. not fixable so I had to get another.

I checked the kill switch and the key switch, ive taken part by part off and put them onto my running shee and mine still ran. I've taken part by part off my she onto his and didn't run.. Ill check the grounds and the voltage regulator later today.. I'm going to bed for now ( I work 3rd Shift ) Thanks again for the input

take an ohm meter and check all the harness wires at both ends for continuity. if you have a good harness and good components, then u shouldn't have a problem. It's probably something real simple you overlooked. I know what your going through trust me. take a step back and drink a beer. look it over with a fresh frame of mind. from stator to spark plug, it will come to you sooner or later.

Check the ohms on the stator... I had very similar issues with mine earlier this year.. I was showing resistance but even then it wasn't enough for the bike to fire.. As I remember it was reading like 13 and 114.. Where as you want it closer to 18 and 118 area.. Good luck man, electrical shit sucks..

A buddy had the same problem earlier this year. We tested all the components that could be tested with a multi-meter. Then we shot the wire harness and found a broken wire. The insulation was fine, so it was not noticeable by observation alone. If I recall, it was the red wire near the front of the harness, a few inches before one of the connectors.

I think I found out the problem.. The flywheel is not going on all the way, so the little nubs on the flywheel arnt comming in contact with the pickup coil.. wich is why ( I think ) its getting power to the cdi and nothings comming out
