Might be. Could be some dirt making the slides stick or a clogged main jet. What does your air filter look like? Try lubing the cable, also. Have you had the carbs apart lately?

Do you have the TORS removal, if so make sure you don't have your caps to tight on top of the carbs. That can cause the throttle to stick also.

check to make sure your cable isnt bound up somewhere. how old is the cable? they should be replaced every so often. maybe its time.

Lube the cable, place where the lever bends etc. Also make sure the cable isnt getting binded up. Perhaps clean you slides too in the carbs.

.. every thing is lubed and cleaned up the slides are clean .... and it sticks when its off so im thinking its the cabel .. i dont think its ever been replaced and its an 02 .. what you guys think??

if on stock carbs with TORs removed, it could be getting stuck on the idle screw.
