yfzdunejumper Posted August 14, 2007 Report Posted August 14, 2007 Does anyone know where I can get frot shocks that would measure 12in. from eye to eye? Thanks There are at least three pair of marvins a month between HQ, PS, eBay Quote
NYUK Posted August 14, 2007 Report Posted August 14, 2007 marvins are the only way to go. and are adjustable. Quote
10second Banshee Posted August 14, 2007 Report Posted August 14, 2007 I run Fox floaters in front.. To adjust them. Just use a air pump. My weigh just under 2lbs.. Yes pricey.. But no to carry around a nitrogen tank. Plus nitrogen is not cheap. Quote
yfzdunejumper Posted August 14, 2007 Report Posted August 14, 2007 I guess I didn't read that about shaws being to expensive.... You can pick up a used set for 150-200 if you look around option two and its not even half as goo is to buy some blaster shocks Quote
bigboybanshee Posted August 14, 2007 Report Posted August 14, 2007 A lot of people on a budget use 300ex shocks. They are a good length and work well if you're only dragging. I've been told they bolt right up. Quote
NYUK Posted August 14, 2007 Report Posted August 14, 2007 the puertos just cut a length of chain, squat the bike down in front and bolt the chain to the upper and lower shock bolts, viola drag shocks. like this. Quote
MSBansheeDrags Posted August 14, 2007 Report Posted August 14, 2007 why not just use struts?...unless you are racing on a really rough surface...they work well and are very comparatively economical....dbr Quote
bigboybanshee Posted August 14, 2007 Report Posted August 14, 2007 Once you run with marvins on the front you'll never want to run strutted up front again...trust me, I know. Rigid frames are technically the best thing for racing a groomed track, but if you're running a stock framed bike I highly recommend strut in the rear, shocks up front Quote
dajogejr Posted August 15, 2007 Report Posted August 15, 2007 the puertos just cut a length of chain, squat the bike down in front and bolt the chain to the upper and lower shock bolts, viola drag shocks. like this. That's a sissy bar, isn't it? Man...that's hot!! Quote
badassbanshee479 Posted August 15, 2007 Report Posted August 15, 2007 300 ex shocks in the front, r6 street bike shock in the rear!! or a strut in the rear and 300ex shocks in the front!! Quote
zach45 Posted August 15, 2007 Report Posted August 15, 2007 all that money into that shee and he uses chains? Quote
SoCalinIt Posted August 15, 2007 Report Posted August 15, 2007 You can get all three Marvins for $500 new. That's what I paid! Quote
yfzdunejumper Posted August 16, 2007 Report Posted August 16, 2007 I got all three of mine for 200 used... Plus $20 for nitrogen Quote
