vitovito240 Posted July 15, 2007 Report Posted July 15, 2007 i was riding on the street yesterday and i felt a wobble in my front end when i got at a high speed. now last week i hit a rock and felt a real hard jolt in my front wheels. now i heard this woble could be a bent rim but can you bend hyper beedlocks that are carbon fiber? thanks Quote
bansheefreak Posted July 15, 2007 Report Posted July 15, 2007 no. i was told if you bend a hiper wheel you or your quad would be trash cus it would take a major mishap for it to happen.. i would say you could have bent a hub before you bend your hipers.. Quote
dawarriorman Posted July 15, 2007 Report Posted July 15, 2007 If I remember right, the center piece is aluminum. Thats generally the part of the wheel that bends anyways. You should be able to buy just that piece (id swap it out with the same piece on your other wheel to make sure thats it). You're right about the carbon fiber part though, it should break instead of permanently bending. Quote
locogato11283 Posted July 15, 2007 Report Posted July 15, 2007 i seriously doubt you damaged your wheel. hipers can take serious abuse. ive rolled my bike end over end down 200 foot hills and never had a hiper be messed up. i say look toward your spindle and other such parts.. Quote
TurboBanshee420 Posted July 16, 2007 Report Posted July 16, 2007 they don't bend... but they sure do break! I took a huge chunk out of my front inner module when I nailed a head sized rock at 80mph. I'd have to say you may have damaged the tire... Like a broken belt on a car tire. Quote
firefighterjosh Posted July 17, 2007 Report Posted July 17, 2007 like others say they do not bend just break. You prabably bent something else. Quote
racer Posted July 20, 2007 Report Posted July 20, 2007 good luck bending carbon fiber in general. its not what I would call a ductile material. Quote
Banshee~ Posted July 21, 2007 Report Posted July 21, 2007 hipers will flex to pervent braking, but you would have to total your bike to brake one of these things. also they have a 1 year warrenty Quote
