pokeatyou2 Posted June 29, 2007 Report Posted June 29, 2007 im finding it hard to get someone to shipp me a coolant bottle bracket so im thinking about makeing one myself if anyone else has made one and has some pics could you please post them on here that would be great thanks Quote
BansheeKid15 Posted June 29, 2007 Report Posted June 29, 2007 I dont think it would be very hard. I havent made one, but if you still have the stock airbox, you can kinda get an idea from there the holes are to mount the bottle to, and then i would bend up something that looks like this ____ ____ l l l l l________l where the bottle would sit in the middle of that and the tabs would bolt it to where the airbox used to in the back. Not much help, but try it out. Quote
BansheeKid15 Posted June 29, 2007 Report Posted June 29, 2007 so nevermind on that drawing... lol. It looked good before i posted it pretty much, just outline the bottle in sheet metal, make some tabs to mount to the stock airbox location Quote
shee4speed Posted June 29, 2007 Report Posted June 29, 2007 After searching this site my bottle hangs out on the shelf in the garage.Ditch it! Quote
theshee Posted June 29, 2007 Report Posted June 29, 2007 If you really want to keep it, and cut the back of an airbox out and leave the place where it mounts to the bottle and the frame. Thats what I did on my wifes bike. Quote
FireHead Posted June 29, 2007 Report Posted June 29, 2007 If you do a search for breather lines on the HQ you should find a thread that has pictures of one of the brakets I made (I am not able to post any pictures up for a bit, so hopefully you can find). FYI: Removing the coolant bottle completely is a silly idea that seems to have grown into something good to do via the internet. Unless you are purely drag racing your bike, it's a dumb idea. Some people get away with it due to a pseudo malfunctioning cooling system, but in reality, the Banshee cooling system is a coolant recovering system, that properly taken care of does work. Certain cool heads, failed radiator caps, low coolant level, and air leaks in the cooling system tend to lead folks to believe the prior myth. :geek: Quote
yfzdunejumper Posted June 29, 2007 Report Posted June 29, 2007 I was going to say I would send you mine for free but shipping might be to expensive. Quote
