TIM LUTZ Posted June 21, 2007 Report Posted June 21, 2007 Has anyone used Amsoil Super Shift ATF? Parts guy at my Yamaha dealer says it will give you the best feeling clutch you ever had. Going to try it after I do my water pump seal this weekend. Quote

Going to try it after I do my water pump seal this weekend. I think Amsoil is junk. My opinion...I"m entitled to it. Tired of my stock 96 bolt on part bike not shifting well, the amsoil guy told me...try their gear oil for 2 stroke trannys. Everyone I know that has used it says their bikes shift like butter now. Yeah...right.... It shifted worse than it did before, with good old 80W belray gear saver.... Also...that'll be the day I run my premix at 50 or 100:1...I don't care what the bottle says...no thanks... Quote

I was running 80W BelRay because thats what the previous owner was running. Does it really matter that much? Quote
okbeast Posted June 21, 2007 Report Posted June 21, 2007 I think it's totally preference. I run 10w-30 valvoline cuz the manual says to and it's cheap. Quote
MILO Posted June 22, 2007 Report Posted June 22, 2007 i've always run bel-ray 80w gearsaver without any problems. i'm going to stick with it over regular motor oil considering the beating a shee clutch and tranny takes. a new stock dipstick is around $6 at a local stealership, at least that's what i paid for mine. or if you want to go bling blingin, shop around, there's several out there. Devans Posted June 23, 2007 Report Posted June 23, 2007 The override I got from Jeff @ FAST came with instructions how to install it, how to break it in, and what kind/how much fluid to use. ATF Type F...2 quarts. Is atf type f fluid ok to use in a stock trans? Quote
dajogejr Posted June 24, 2007 Report Posted June 24, 2007 Is atf type f fluid ok to use in a stock trans? Personal Preference... Some will say yes. But, I always ran 80W gearsaver before I had my lockup/override, so...I can't tell you from personal experience. Many will tell you it'll be just fine...you'll just have to change it more often... Cool, i usually use gearsaver too, but nobody in town has it... I always have to order and the stuff isnt cheap... So you think im safe with atf type f and or 10w30?? Quote
fr500c Posted August 8, 2007 Report Posted August 8, 2007 its 1500cc's is OEM fill level and I think you meant mililiters. 1500cc = 1500 mililiters 1500cc = 1500 cubic centimeters or 1,5l lol milimeters = a distance Quote
