ban-shred
I had an idea when sleeping...one of my friends got pegs and could sell me them for something like 5$ each...if i weld them to my normal peg it would do a fat peg like IMS or Blingstar but for really less money...anyone tried it or could agree that the weld would hold??And what are the real benefit of fat peg...looks cool but does this really change something?? Snopczynski
I have 2 stock footpegs welded together on my bike. I have made 3 or 4 sets now. Feet dont slide off as easy now. Edited May 7, 2007 by Snopczynski

bansheeyfz
I done it but took them off cause i liked my heel guards. I bolted mine and it worked fine.
Wallrat
I run dual stock pegs as well. Works good and you can retain the heel guards if you do it right. I've made a few sets for members too.

okbeast
Are ya'll weldin to the front or back of the stock peg?
Snopczynski
I do a weld on the bottom back side of the stock one. Then a weld on the end, and I add a butt plate to the end of the added on one.
Wallrat
Take the throw away pegs and cut the peg part off flush with the mounting plate. Then test fit this peg in front of the stock peg, you'll notice that the mount plate curves down towards the ground so welding it like this would look ghetto. Mark on the cut peg where the mounting plate intersects and then cut the removed peg at a 45* angle to match the mounting plate. Put it back on in front of the stock peg and weld in place. There's no way you could break my welded pegs even if you wadded them up. I'll grab a picture tomorrow if I remember my camera.

Snopczynski
I built a set for my best frien. He is 6' 5" and 260 lbs. He has had them on for 2 years and they have never even cracked.

Leadfoot350
I was just messing with that guy because if he had to ask if it would hold then obviously he can not weld and is not confident with his own welding. Did you stick weld that and if so what stick did you use?
