CRAZY-SHEE! Posted May 2, 2007 Report Posted May 2, 2007 (edited) ok guys.. ive decided i guess, until l8r.. imma get a cheetah motor with a 7 mil crank for my quad. Now the problem is, i cant find any reputable dealer to buy this bad boy from. Ive been googleing it for the past 2 hours. the only company i can find is trinity, and i refuse to buy from them after the ordeal with my v force 3 reeds. (ordered them priority, it took 2 months to get here) and the fact that, in theyre description, they say some like, aluminum, not nickasil, and stuff like that, and im not sure if they true and weld thayre cranks, etc.. i have yet to find a reputable builder that sells these.. fast doesnt sell them, only cubs. No one seems to carry these things. Im looking around but.. i cant find any.. where did the people who got theyre cheetas get theyes? Btw im already up to 1700 saved for it ^^ edit- sry about the typo in the title. Edited May 2, 2007 by CRAZY-SHEE! Quote
Jhughes7 Posted May 2, 2007 Report Posted May 2, 2007 Does cascade not have cheetahs? http://www.cascadeinnovations.net/ Quote
CRAZY-SHEE! Posted May 2, 2007 Author Report Posted May 2, 2007 nope.. only cubs.. ive checked all the major dealers. nothing... Quote
FASTOYS Posted May 2, 2007 Report Posted May 2, 2007 Misunderstanding, i dont carry the Cheetahs on hand but can get you some! For the price the Cubs are hard to beat though.. Quote
dajogejr Posted May 2, 2007 Report Posted May 2, 2007 Crazy... What kind of riding do you plan on doing. For the price...the cubs really are hard to beat. Also...you can use your stock head, intakes, etc. for the cub. However, IMO the cub is a duner and drag race motor only.... I plan on building a Cheetah in the next year or two...just because I'm on my second cub (first 4 mil, now 10 mil) and I'd like to see how a Cheetah runs. If you're gonna build a duner/drag bike, for the price a 4 mil cub is probably the best bang for the buck... Also...with this new power, are you prepared for tranny mods, chassis/suspension mods and clutch mods to get all the power to the ground? Not trying to be a jerk...just hate to see you spend money for 100HP and not be able to get it to the ground efficiently.... Quote
Bansh-eman Posted May 2, 2007 Report Posted May 2, 2007 like dave said, with a cheetah get ready to spend alot more on clutch tranny suspension new tires swinger carbs head reeds pipes a cub your going to save some buy being able to run alot of your stock parts but your still going to need tranny clutch suspension swinger tires carbs...the list goes on and on... its not somehting you can buy a say 1500 dollar stroker kit like alba trys to sell and eb done with it... you need alot more to actually ride all that power... kelly20 Posted May 2, 2007 Report Posted May 2, 2007 what tranny mods are you talking about? i keep ripping second gear out of mine. need some info on where to go. Quote
dajogejr Posted May 2, 2007 Report Posted May 2, 2007 Get a billet 2nd gear...they're pretty tough to break. Several companies make 'em. Do you already have an override? I've seen a lot bigger motors run a standard tranny cut for override not breaking second gear.... Lockup clutch already?? Quote
Bansh-eman Posted May 2, 2007 Report Posted May 2, 2007 tranny mods as in overrides and lockups... are you breaking your actual gear or is it just not going into sencod gear ? the override will help you fix this problem is high hp motors. and the lockup will keep you for frying a clutch... if your breaking the actuall gear like when launching look at a billet gear... but im guessing your just having problems when you shift into 2nd it keep poping out?? what is done to your bike? if your running the "normal mods" then you could get away with a modded shift star and a shift pro kit... if your running 2 or 3 times the stock hp you might look inot a override if you can afford it Quote
CRAZY-SHEE! Posted May 3, 2007 Author Report Posted May 3, 2007 (edited) moneys not a problem.. im looking for performance. And from what i hear, a cheetah will be perfect for me. And thats excellent news jeff.. ill just buy it from u. the stuff to get it to the ground is sitting in my garage.. i dont need it for just the passion port i have on it now. illl put it on when i buy the cheetah. As for the lockup, got that too, suspension.. im working on that.. thats wicked expensive gonna take a month or two to save up for those.. Freakin elkas, ^^ and the override.. ill have someone do it when the time comes.. i know all the necessary steps i need to get this to work.. i work on high HP bikes out here, so i have a relative idea of what im doing. Bansh-eman Posted May 3, 2007 Report Posted May 3, 2007 one idea instead of buying elkas name... look into works they are much cheaper and are top notch.... Quote

CRAZY-SHEE! Posted May 3, 2007 Author Report Posted May 3, 2007 (edited) one idea instead of buying elkas name... look into works they are much cheaper and are top notch.... yea.. the triple rates.. but i really like the rear suspension setup with the new arm. It looks tight and frmo those who got it ive heaard only good things. WICKED EXPENSIVE THOUGH. What works are the best? i always did like the look of work shocks... elkas just look kinda.. stock... ill look into it. edit- HOT DAMN! those are cheap! nice. But how come i can only find them in dual rate., not triple? edit # 2- ok.. so basically.. u need special reeds and a special head... to run a cheetah.. thats what my reasearch shows me.. basically other then that can use all theother stuff a cub uses..crank.. etc. Edited May 3, 2007 by CRAZY-SHEE! locogato11283 Posted May 3, 2007 Report Posted May 3, 2007 any builder can get you cubs or cheetahs.. FAST is a good guy to go through.. and if youre gonna build a 7mm, you might as well go with a 10mm. its the same money.. Quote
Handyman Posted May 3, 2007 Report Posted May 3, 2007 edit # 2- ok.. so basically.. u need special reeds and a special head... to run a cheetah.. thats what my reasearch shows me.. basically other then that can use all theother stuff a cub uses..crank.. etc. You're correct. The Cheetah uses CR250 reed set up and a cheetah specific head. Quote
