highroller355 Posted April 22, 2007 Report Posted April 22, 2007 ok started her today for the 1 st time in 2-3 weeks.she would only run on choke until under a load . then 5 min later started running ok again , so rode it around all day ran good went to take it out tonight ran good for the 1st 1/2 or more. went to line up to race my friend on the way there to make sure it wouldnt run out of gas i put it on reserve with in 30 sec it stallled now it doing the same thing. itwill only run on choke, revs good just cant put it under a load put it back to main gas instead of reserve still doin the same. 165 main 48 pilot needle 3 clip had it on 4 and 5 no diffrence . 4 mil long rod, boss intake ,shearer inframes, 33 pwks (2),aggresive port, head milled 20 thousandths, 175 psi each , i think 396 or 398 cc Quote

wesw Posted April 22, 2007 Report Posted April 22, 2007 any chance youleft some gas with oil sit in the bowls. might have pluggedup the pilot, i would pull carbs off clean them very well, check your reeds make sure you dont see any light thru them. and go from there. Quote

locogato11283 Posted April 24, 2007 Report Posted April 24, 2007 well it should start with either 48 or 50 pilot, unless that circuit is plugged. but if the carbs are good and clean you better start checking spark. you might be getting intermittent spark and sometimes itll start and run fine and other times it wont. ive had that happen to me before..are your plugs fouled by chance?
