bada Posted April 16, 2007 Report Posted April 16, 2007 I have been using search and reading for hours, cant seem to find a purge system,or one for sale.I saw the one listed on wicked but thats a steep price.I am new to alky and my carbs are getting converted as we speek, any help would be geeatly appreciated.I am also willing to trade the items i have for sale or swap for one. Also is a water pump impeller a must have and does it keep the bike alot cooler?thanks Quote
Screaming Yellow Zonker Posted April 16, 2007 Report Posted April 16, 2007 IMO the water pump impeller is a good idea. They have a different flow design which allows more coolant to flow in turns keeping your machine cooler. and it is cheap insurance for plastic parts dont last forever. I'll keep looking for a purge system for you. Quote
Screaming Yellow Zonker Posted April 16, 2007 Report Posted April 16, 2007 E-Bay has a purge block... not sure if this helps you? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/BANSHEE-DRA...sspagenameZWDVW Quote
bigboybanshee Posted April 16, 2007 Report Posted April 16, 2007 Here's what you do....pull your fuel lines off the carbs, drain the tank of alcohol. Put fuel lines back on carbs, fill the tank up with however much gas you want to purge the system with, run it until it's out, load up and go home. No need to spend "extra" money on a system. Just my thoughts. Quote
bonbon Posted April 16, 2007 Report Posted April 16, 2007 E-Bay has a purge block... not sure if this helps you? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/BANSHEE-DRA...sspagenameZWDVW That is a part from majicmike here on BHQ. PM him and I bet he can give you some ideas on how to build a purge system for your bike and help you locate some parts. Quote
FasterThanU90 Posted April 16, 2007 Report Posted April 16, 2007 from what ive seen all u need to do is have a container big or small hook it up to the carbs and run premix gas its pretty easy, i think u just run the bike until it starts to bog then u kno the alkohol is run out of the system Quote
BigRed350x Posted April 16, 2007 Report Posted April 16, 2007 Id get a hold of majicmike here on the board. he has a sweet little 5-way T that will make purging easy as pie. I made my own purge bottle mounted on my bars on my bike and when I'm done for the day, I shut off my main tank, fill the purge bottle and just run the bike until it gets all shitty. I don't have to swap hoses, hook up any outside tanks or anything. ...and I've got a filter on my purge tank so no worries of crap getting in while I purge. Its a sweet setup and pretty cheap for the T from mike. You could use a nalgene bottle or anything really for your purge tank. I made my own out of aluminum and mounted it on my bars, it holds about 16oz and I fill it twice and about half-way through the second fillup my bike starts to load up pretty good and I run it till it dies, then put it away. simple stuff. - jared Quote
bada Posted April 17, 2007 Author Report Posted April 17, 2007 So the idea of draning alky out of gas tank, then running race fuel mixture in tank to purge wouldnt hurt the alky next time i put the alky back in it?Cause that sounds alot easier than using a purge system.Help please..... Quote
bigboybanshee Posted April 17, 2007 Report Posted April 17, 2007 No, it shouldn't hurt it at all. If you don't burn all the purge gas, drain it out...I don't see how running two different fuels through the tank could do any damage Quote
dajogejr Posted April 17, 2007 Report Posted April 17, 2007 They also make a quick disconnect fitting as well, to work in conjunction with MajicMike's purge T, makes it even easier.... Quote
bada Posted April 18, 2007 Author Report Posted April 18, 2007 Where can i find these quick disconnect fittings? Thanks for the help everyone i really appreciate it.. Quote
