thedurf Posted April 1, 2007 Report Posted April 1, 2007 ya, so i finally got my she running great and i notice she is leaking some coolant fron the head gasket...ok, this sucks but not horrible. So i check the head nuts to make sure they are the right torque. and of course the first one i touch just keeps fucking turning. So now the bolt will just keep turning and won't tighten. Obviously crossthreaded. Is there any other option besides a coil? Cuz the shop that did the engine work did the same shit when i bored the cylanders, and THEY are the ones that put the engine back together. Anybody got any ideas? Quote
turbostang Posted April 1, 2007 Report Posted April 1, 2007 try some thread tape it might work. good luck Quote
jbooker82 Posted April 1, 2007 Report Posted April 1, 2007 How long ago did they do the work. I would take it back to them. Quote
yamaha04 Posted April 1, 2007 Report Posted April 1, 2007 How long ago did they do the work. I would take it back to them. hell yeah take it back yelling. well try to be nice about it first but if that gets you nowhere start yelling if not then atleast it will make you fell better Quote
thedurf Posted April 1, 2007 Author Report Posted April 1, 2007 I'm definitely planning on taking it back, but just curious....what is thread tape? Could it be used in this case? Quote
jbooker82 Posted April 2, 2007 Report Posted April 2, 2007 The only thread tape that I know of is Teflon Tape. It is used to seal up bolt threads and threaded pipe fittings. Quote
thedurf Posted April 2, 2007 Author Report Posted April 2, 2007 where would i be able to get the tape? I'm trying to take care of this problem without having to drop off the quad for weeks again. Anybody got any ideas? Quote
Screaming Yellow Zonker Posted April 2, 2007 Report Posted April 2, 2007 Teflon tape is not going to help you out at all. If there is nothing to grab it will still spin. You are going to have to tear it down and Hei-Coil the damaged hole. Quote
thedurf Posted April 2, 2007 Author Report Posted April 2, 2007 fuck, ok, well thatnks for the help guys, wish me luck cuz this is the second time this has happened. Hey at least i got it running good this time. :ermm: Quote
