woodro77 Posted March 29, 2007 Report Posted March 29, 2007 what does 5/8 of a inch transfer into MM Quote
sand4ever Posted March 29, 2007 Report Posted March 29, 2007 (edited) Not exactly sure, but I do know that there are 25mm in a inch if that helps. just used a calculator and it says 15.65mm hope that is right. Edited March 29, 2007 by sand4ever Quote
bonbon Posted March 29, 2007 Report Posted March 29, 2007 what does 5/8 of a inch transfer into MM 2.54 cm in an inch, so 25.4 mm in an inch, 5/8*25.4=15.875 so prolly a 16 mm Quote
woodro77 Posted March 29, 2007 Author Report Posted March 29, 2007 well 5/8 is the thread size of the ball joints for my +2 a arms and im trying to find new ones , ricky stator says their joints are 16 mm thread , so im tying to find out if they will fit on my arms Quote
64xracer Posted March 29, 2007 Report Posted March 29, 2007 To find inches from mm times by .03937 To find mm from inches divide by .03937 Quote

Couldnt find anything under 16mm, so I drilled out the a-arm. Worked good. Quote

racer Posted March 29, 2007 Report Posted March 29, 2007 ricky stator says their joints are 16 mm thread , so im tying to find out if they will fit on my arms Oh man, you have much to learn. You cant just choose an different size because its close. There is quite a bit that goes into multi-point threading, and it all has to match. Get the right joints or risk a serious injury when one randomly lets go. Quote

If he was just trying to buy joints from Ricky Stator, I would be willing to be that they only offer there joints in one meric size near that major diameter and pitch. So as long as he is within a the neighbor hood of the right diameter, he can probably choose the joints he needs. Now if he was making something to thread the joint in to, that would be a whole different story. I am sure I would wind up getting all worked up and typing a lecture on thread types, design, and manufacture methods. Quote
