well 5/8 is the thread size of the ball joints for my +2 a arms and im trying to find new ones ,

ricky stator says their joints are 16 mm thread , so im tying to find out if they will fit on my arms

from this little excerpt it seems as though you are trying to mix and match diameters and the pitches that follow.

but from your last post I see they dont thread in. that would make a sizable in the number of choices available. but you still have to match the tapers, unless your spindles have been reamed.

im done.

yes , ricky stator said they have both styles , for reamed spindles and stock spindles ,

on a side note, 20 bucks for a precision high quality bearing aint bad.

$20 for a moderately high quality bearing of that size isn't bad. If it is a high quality joint, then $20 is a screaming deal.

An online version of the Machinery's Handbook wiould also be cool if there was such a thing. They hadn't published them on DVD yet, when I was given mine 7 years ago as a present. :geek:

I need one of those. They are pretty pricy, but I think I can talk someone into buying it for me. ie, mom.

Make sure you get the big print version. It's only a few more dollars and you can actually set it on a table and have it stay on the same page. Via your student SAE membership, you should get a pretty good discount if you buy the book from SAE. I think it's probably only around $90 after the discount. Also, don't buy the bundled version of the book that comes with the users guide. One of the guys that worked for me had one and the guide was pretty worthless if you had more than a couple of brain cells to rub together. I will also caution you that once you start shopping in the SAE online bookstore with your discount you might not be able to stop. You can even buy some textbooks on there depending, of course, on what the professors at your school are using. From the last two years of my BS degree all the way through my MS degree, I had developed a two book per month addiction (some of those books are really not cheap no matter who you buy them from). If you ever need a suggestion for an engineering book to read, let me know, I have many favorites that I would be happy to reccomend. :geek:
