Warm the bike up, turn each air screw in 1/2 to 1 turn...then wait 20 seconds for the setting to take effect.

By the way, dumb question. Do you have new plugs in, and are they gapped right? I did a TORS removal kit for a friend, and it popped as backfired as soon as I put it all back together...great...

Just had old/fouled plugs in. I gave him my used irridium plugs...no problems....

The plugs are brand new only have about 2 starts on them meaning I only started the motor 2 times since I bought them. I have no clue what you mean by gapped right all I did was take the plugs and put them in the motor.

this may sound dumb but this is the first time I have ever herd about spark plug gaps :banghead: . So I would not know how to measure and gap the plugs could explain how I go about doing it

could this be causing the popping sound. I seacrhed using the search mode but did not find too much info on how to gap plugs or if it was the cause of my situation.

Tough question. They're new plugs. A lot of people take NGKs out of the box and throw them in....

They are usually pretty close to spec as is.

However....I think another site could answer your question rather than write a novel here.

This is the best description I can give you....with a picture. Bascially, there is a gap between the enter electrode and the electrode strap, the spark jumps the gap to ignite fuel/air. Manufacturers specify what the gap should be ...with a minimum and maximum.

The rest is explained here....'bout halfway down the page.

Sothe gap I would be measuring would be the little piece between the metal arm thing on the bottom of the plug and the flint looking thing in the center of the plug if this is the case I did drop one of the plugs and the metal bent to the flint looking thing. I bent it back with some pliers. I guess I will go out and get some new plugs and see if this still pops.

Also my plugs ars B8ES is there a difference between BR8ES and the ones i have now

Oh boy....

Yeah, try new plugs.

R means resistor. Either plug will work, unless you plan on fastening an FM radio onto your bike...LOL.

Just switched the plugs no luck still popping. I have no clue what to do. Im getting too pist off maybe I need to chill out and come back to it in a few weeks before I blow this bish up.

No I totaly forgot that he had mentioned the air screw. I am going to try that tomorrow and it that doesnt work I am going to try to take apart the carbs. Also this may sound like a extremely dumb question but is there some kind of seal or O ring type thing for the pipes that should go on the exhaust part of the cylinders where the exhaust comes out and connects to the pipe. Just asking because I have seen a couple people mention something about pipe seals or sum shit like that in some posts when I was using the search mode trying to gather as much info as I can on this subject. Seems like a lot of people had this problem once before but it never said how they solved it.

There should be o-rings between the head pipes and the exhaust ports. I you dont have them, I would order some from LRD.

I cant seem to find Lrds website. I found a couple that sell one specific set of pipes but I have the adjustible ones. I cant use any O ring from a different company? Seems to me like any Pipe O ring would fit because all the pipes have to fit the same on the ehaust ports.

to tell you all the truth, i think your blowing this out of proportion. i have an 04 banshee and have had many other banshees. if yout piped generaly the head pipe is thinner and has less curves to quiet the sound a.k.a. your wonder pipes(stockers). all of my shees that i have had pipes on them have "poped". what your hearing is the cylinders firing the pipe has less curves so it just makes it louder. thats all... nothing to worry about but if you have made any changes to your air screws id advise you to check your plugs to make sure you havent leaned your baby out.

No I dont think im blowing this out of proportion. I think I would know when something is not sounding right and this is not sounding right. When that bit*h sounds like a fu*kin firecracker blowing up behind you you cant tell me thats how aftermarket pipes are suppose to sound and it only seems to come from the right pipe left pipe sounds normal like a banshee should IMO . Thanks for your helpful tip but what you said was already mentioned. Its cool thow im not going to let it bother me the bike is a 96 and could use some new parts so eventually I will solve the problem. Its just going to take me a little time.
