MILO Posted March 26, 2007 Report Posted March 26, 2007 i'm debating over what kind of pants to get for riding this summer. mainly i'm looking at thor 'Ride' pants, or the 'phase' pants. i ride mostly trails, and places where you most likely will get wet and muddy, so i was leaning toward the ride pants. but i've never had a pair of mx pants either. which style would you get and why?? kaotik1 Posted March 26, 2007 Report Posted March 26, 2007 I have the Appocolypse pants, and I love them. They are free ride pants but comfortable. Quote
MILO Posted March 26, 2007 Author Report Posted March 26, 2007 They are free ride pants but comfortable. what exactly does that mean? Quote
kaotik1 Posted March 26, 2007 Report Posted March 26, 2007 MX pants are pleted to fit into your boots, these are I gues straight legged so they go over your boots. vs. somthing like this Quote

ClimbAnyHill Posted March 26, 2007 Report Posted March 26, 2007 I would really reccomend Axo. I tried to find something online to show my gear and this is the closest i got to http://www.btosports.com/p/AXO07PURSUIT The design is pretty much the same. Gripps good on the seat, they're a bit baggy loose & straight leg so will also fit comfy & over the boot. They have velcro at the ankle so you can snug them up to the boot. Inside of the leg has a protective layer against heat that really helps against those Toomey pipes. They're thick so good for night riding in cold conditions and repels water. The pants zip off into riding shorts below then knee & still have protection against pipe burns. I fit 4 waters in one pocket. My cam & other stuff in the other pockett. Paid $60 for pants & jersey. MILO Posted March 26, 2007 Author Report Posted March 26, 2007 (edited) here's another pair i was considering. they are basically what i'm looking for, being waterproof, but for $180 at RMATV by the way, thanks for all the replies guys, keep them coming... Edited March 26, 2007 by MILO Quote
ClimbAnyHill Posted March 26, 2007 Report Posted March 26, 2007 That's alot of money for gear, check this place out.. They usually have good closeouts. They just had %75 off sale & missed it, only 1/2 mile away from my job. Check this out, not what you're looking for but pretty nice & it gets nicer the more you look at the price. http://www.gmo1.com/Shift_Squadron_Jersey_...9_04195-001.htm Quote
Animalman294 Posted March 26, 2007 Report Posted March 26, 2007 Ya, I have a brand new pair of thor riding gear and so far I have never worn the pants and I have had them for 2 years. I think they are going to glue themselves to my pipes if they get to close, and I don't want to ruin them................ :: Quote
floyd398 Posted March 26, 2007 Report Posted March 26, 2007 I got some MSR strike force pants for $108 about a year ago and they're pretty nice. It's nice to be able to zip off into shorts when you stop on a hot day. As far as being waterproof they do seem to be water resistant and dry relatively fast. Quote
crbanshee Posted March 26, 2007 Report Posted March 26, 2007 im kind of partial to thor because im sponcored by them, but i think for what you are looking for is something like the MSR free ride they have the zip of leggs and they are super comfy and they keep out mosto of the stuff you dont want in your pants when you ride..
