Rustbag Posted March 24, 2007 Report Posted March 24, 2007 they make a clutch boss holder. But I just use the air ratchet. Quote
Ruko Posted March 24, 2007 Report Posted March 24, 2007 I usually use an impact as well but you can also put a penny in the gears to keep it from turning. I had to do that once it worked ok. Quote
mpbanshee Posted March 24, 2007 Report Posted March 24, 2007 Strap wrench and an impact worked well for me. Quote
2004LEBanshee Posted March 24, 2007 Report Posted March 24, 2007 I tried a strap wrench but it ended up not working so I used a towel in the gears worked real good. Quote

This is a potentially risky maneuver. It does work, but if you don't feel comfortable doing it, don't try it. There is a potential to break teeth off gears with this method. Quote

MILO Posted March 26, 2007 Report Posted March 26, 2007 if you have access to an impact gun, that's the way to go to break it loose. to tighten it, i put a rag in the gears, which worked great. Quote
