BlackBarron Posted March 9, 2007 Report Posted March 9, 2007 i don't know if this is a rumor or true but, i have heared that the shearer small bore inframe pipes rev so high that you can't shift the bike on a stock trans. the motor is turning such a high rpm that it wont shift unless you let of the gas, so no speed shifting. is that true? does anyone have any on there bike? thanks Quote
BigRed350x Posted March 9, 2007 Report Posted March 9, 2007 I call bullshit on that one. Go watch some of my videos... Quote
BlackBarron Posted March 9, 2007 Author Report Posted March 9, 2007 that's what i thought. it just didint make since. i have seen stock trannys shift with outframe drag pipes. and they shifted fine. but thanks. Quote
dajogejr Posted March 9, 2007 Report Posted March 9, 2007 Maybe if you double or triple your HP from a stock motor....it ain't gonna shift.... But you can't call the pipes themselves the culprit. Once you start pushing some real power, some shifting aid is needed... Any serious drag guy and the more serious duners are putting lockup and overrides in their bikes. After trying to shift my 421 cub on a stock tranny, it sucked...period. But my motor put out close to 3 times the HP of a stock bike.... Quote
locogato11283 Posted March 9, 2007 Report Posted March 9, 2007 once you get up near 70hp then youll have trouble shifting.. just adding pipes themselves shouldnt affect it any.. Quote
[email protected] Posted March 9, 2007 Report Posted March 9, 2007 I dont have a problem grabbing gears or speed shifting... but some in experienced rider would say " it wont shift " ....... Yes i run a lockup / stroker of some sort .....& Power shifting is not the problem here , its traction . - Chase Quote
