locogato11283 Posted February 19, 2007 Report Posted February 19, 2007 hmmm... 320 was too lean for that setup at 3200 feet? stock pilot is 25. most aftermarket pipe setups require the use of a 27.5 pilot. as far as needle just use the stock one. Quote
bansheecowboy Posted February 19, 2007 Author Report Posted February 19, 2007 it ran fine before i moved across the state i whent from 16oo feet to 3200 when i was at 1600 i hade a 330 main jet in and it ran great started on the first kick and ideled fine and had good power though out the whole rpm range. so i dont know were to start at. dajogejr Posted February 19, 2007 Report Posted February 19, 2007 Before you go out and ride it, check it for leaks. If anything, it should've went RICHER from 1600 to 3200 feet. My advice is start with 320 main, stock pilots and needle in the middle clip. Normally...a 27.5 pilot is required by aftermarket pipes when removing the airbox. However due to your elevation....I think you'll be ok with either or.... Quote
locogato11283 Posted February 19, 2007 Report Posted February 19, 2007 i agree, something doesnt add up here. you should have been jetted way fat then at 1600 feet. i dont think jetting was the reason for it leaning out.. Quote
bansheecowboy Posted February 19, 2007 Author Report Posted February 19, 2007 this is my first banshee ( shit my first wheeler for that matter) the guy i bought it from use to race it back were i used to live and it ran fine there and when i moved the yamaha dealer was the one that told me to go smaller. but i am kinda thinking of taking it to a 2 stroke shop to have them set the jetting Quote
bansheecowboy Posted February 19, 2007 Author Report Posted February 19, 2007 i just got done looking at my carbs i had a tpyo in there it is a 220 and the old one was 230 sorry guys. the neddle clip is at the 3rd spot os the neddle and on the neddle it said 5n7 but i dont know what that means. any info would be hepl full and sorry about the wrong jet sizes. i could see how to get the poilt out so i dont kow what size that is. gregbowler Posted February 20, 2007 Report Posted February 20, 2007 Thats why you burned it down. I would go with the suggested 320 and 27.5 pilot. The pilot screws out with a small flat head Quote
bansheecowboy Posted February 20, 2007 Author Report Posted February 20, 2007 were is it in the carb these carb are just a little different then the holly i had on my 68 chevy. Quote
bigdaddy69 Posted February 20, 2007 Report Posted February 20, 2007 This link should help you out, click here Gotta give credit to dajogejr, he provided me with that link. Thanks Dave! Scroll about 3/4 of the way down it has pictures of where the jets are located, along with some good reading throughout the whole page. Quote
bansheecowboy Posted February 21, 2007 Author Report Posted February 21, 2007 i got the pilot out and it is a 25, so do you guys think a 27.5 should do it also the sir screw was about 2 to 2 1/2 turns out Quote
Banchetta Posted February 21, 2007 Report Posted February 21, 2007 If it starts right up, then leave the 25 pilot, try the needle in the 3rd clip, ride it, then try the 4th clip and ride it. Determine which one is better, I'd start off w/ a 300 mains and go from there. Run it wot in 6th gear for 5-10 seconds, pull the clutch in, kill it, coast to a stop, check the plugs. Quote
