kawiking Posted February 17, 2007 Report Posted February 17, 2007 will v force reeds work on a stock reed cage?? Quote
sheefreak Posted February 17, 2007 Report Posted February 17, 2007 Never tried it but you'd be paying way to much money for no reason. It isn't the reed that helps airflow, it is the cage. I think it costs $60 for replacement v-forces, or $30 for a decent set of boyeseen's that will do the same thing. Quote

theshee Posted March 5, 2007 Report Posted March 5, 2007 Everybody told me that VF3s were the best $$ could buy so I didnt mess around with anything else. They have great throttle response, only reeds I will run for sure. Quote
Banchetta Posted March 5, 2007 Report Posted March 5, 2007 Its a contraversy that'll get different results w/ different motor setups....the more mods, the better they help out. Quote
ban-shred Posted March 5, 2007 Report Posted March 5, 2007 i'm running boyesen and they do a real diffence...yep i'm nearby stock but they do a difference, i think that bpyesen reeds are better for near stock engine and vf3's better for more modified engine Quote
RagunCajun Posted March 6, 2007 Report Posted March 6, 2007 vf3's made a huge difference with my dirtbike. Well worth the money. My shee has them but it came like that so i cant say what kind of difference it made. But it should be the same thing. Quote
lonestar Posted March 11, 2007 Report Posted March 11, 2007 I had v-force 2 reeds on my old motor. Did I feel the differance? Very little. Are they worth it? IMO for that motor. Nope. Would I buy v-force 3 reeds for my new motor? Maybe after doing a search that somebody proved that they lowered their E.T. on asphalt by a huge margine switching over from stock. But thats not saying that they would be any good for my motor. It's a gamble. IMO What started this band wagon somebody over at Glamis made a record run famous name Dan Hall, Dennis Packard, or banshee chick Orthon racing made it at the top record run with v-force reeds. Did the reeds have something to do with thoes record runs for that day or was it the conditions allowing the records to be broken. To make me a firm believer. I,d have to buy a set slicks, over-ride the tranny, set up the lights and go buy the E.T. NOT DYNO RUNS. Will I ever do this nope. I have alot of faith with the stock reeds. Quote
Banchetta Posted March 11, 2007 Report Posted March 11, 2007 I gained a solid 2hp across the whole curve on my 4mil, but that is a stroker. I wouldn't expect that much gain on a regular stroke...most people that feel gains is because their jetting was off to start w/. The aftermarket reeds will richen the needle circuit which most shee like once you pipe them. So if someone doesn't have their jetting right and puts aftermarket reeds on and feels a difference. They credit the reeds when actually they richened the mixture, which could have cost nothing w/ a little bit of jetting..A properly jetted shee should have to lower the needle when aftermarket reeds are installed.
