Just got these the other day. I was told they are FMF Gnarly pipes. They say Gold Series on the pipes. Same thing?

Anyways, I go to mount them up, and ran into a small problem. The rear mount for the silencers is a little...off.

I'm pretty sure I didn't put them on the wrong sides. LOL

The bottom mount lines up perfectly. There is also the concern that the silencers don't completely connect into the head pipes. I have collars on them and tightened but smoke still comes out where they connect. :banghead:

usually there is like a 1-2" rubber spacing plate on there and it closes most of the gap.......just rig up some sort os a washer/spacer set-up

Thats what I figured. I'm not going to worry about it right now. I put it away for the rest of the winter. I need it to get back into the double digits before I even ATTEMPT to jet this damn thing.

Thanks man.

It's hard to tell from the pic and whether or not the silencer is twisted but it almost looks like it is on backwards. Seems like the top mounting plate on the silencer is "slid" to one side of the silencer some.

Yep, looks like the one for the left side.

There is an aluminum spacer two rubber mounts, and a flat washer or two, that is used to mount each silencer. You may be able to get them in a kit, from FMF, but I've never saw the silencer mounting kit sold seperately anywhere. And your silencer is either on the wrong side, or you need to switch the silencer bodies from one side, to the other. The side of the silencer with the mounting tab, goes closest to the frame.

I tried putting them on opposite sides and that did not work. So you're saying I have to switch the "bodies" of the silencers? I guess the person that had these before me put them back together wrong. LOL :shoothead:

So its too far out? My old fmf gold series pipes had about a 3/4" aluminum spacer with a bushing that went in between the silencer tab and the mount on the frame.
