johnsmith1973 Posted January 10, 2007 Report Posted January 10, 2007 (edited) search for "HID" on here, theres a bunch of threads about the batteries etc. http://www.bansheehq.com/forums/index.php?...p;hl=hid+lights http://www.bansheehq.com/forums/index.php?...p;hl=hid+lights http://www.bansheehq.com/forums/index.php?...p;hl=hid+lights http://www.bansheehq.com/forums/index.php?...p;hl=hid+lights Edited January 10, 2007 by johnsmith1973 Quote
Animalman294 Posted January 10, 2007 Report Posted January 10, 2007 I heard there was a kit out there and it appears to be a Ricky Stator kit................. It can be done its just a pain............ Quote
Bansh-eman Posted January 10, 2007 Report Posted January 10, 2007 i think you can just splice i the auxillery power from your cdi and use that... im not 100% look in your clymers and it tells you the currents and everything about the system... Quote
BenBB Posted January 10, 2007 Report Posted January 10, 2007 This is the best pic I could find of the one I used for a while, it worked great. I think it was an Interstate CYTX12-BS, you might want to double check that group size/dimensions. Anyway it was just the right width to fit between the back of the airbox and those two little fins that stick up. I secured it with a rubber bungee cord (took off the two hooks and stuck a 1/4" x 1" or so bolt through the holes). Quote
Wallrat Posted January 11, 2007 Report Posted January 11, 2007 I dunno about "love having it done". I did mine, and it was a mild PITA, but tolerable. Do I love having a DC system? Uh, well its pretty similar to the AC one, just cost more. Do I love my HID's? Absolutely! Was the conversion worth it? Yes, for something as nice as the HID's. I wouldn't do it if all you want is to be able to turn your lights on w/out the engine running or something like that. If having those alarms is important to you, then go for it. You'll need a 200w stator since you lose some wattage in the conversion. I was told that you shouldn't exceed 170W or so once you switch to DC. Quote

All dan really wants it for is, he bought a trailtech thing. It has a tach, speedo, and is backlit, he needs teh battery to run the tach and backlight. Quote
gregbowler Posted January 13, 2007 Report Posted January 13, 2007 You can use A/C power. Read This: http://trailtech.net/vapor.htm Quote
