iv had no problems with my YFZ450 since i got it late 04.

iv never ridden the trx450 but from what iv seen the yfz is a little bigger? more spaced out? maybe some one can confirm that.

Id wait and get the Kawie KFX-450 thats coming out. In a sand sport magazine I have it is suppose to be really sweet. Better egros then th YFZ and the honda. It will be my next bike.

Tithead, I felt like a bear fucking a tricycle on the yfz...

It's personal preference... I like the power of the yfz but the suspension/ergos of the trx.... IMO honda engineers have always had the idea of how a quad should track in the air....

The new yfz's are sweet but so are the trx it is almost apples to oranges. the yfz's make IMO way more power. If you are buying new the seat on the yfz is 10 times beter than the 04-05. the trx haddles great way better ride and awsome duner. Dont get cheap with the honda and git the one with the kicker it sucks to kick foward IMO. Betwen the guy next door and me we have 9 bikes and have rode just about everyone. We have a trx 450 and 2 yfz"s 04-06 I have a lot of seat time on these quads and if you have question fell free to ask.

I've never ridden either but from what I have heard from the guys I ride with the Honda is better in the air...seems to be even balanced. The YFZ seems to have a lower center of gravity and little better suspension but the honda rides better.... Just what I'ver heard

Well she is a fairly novice rider and I want something with some decent power so she can go with me most places but also be very rideable and comfortable for her. I will probably do quite a bit of riding on it too for when my back hurts so bad from the stock suspension on the banshee that i cant take it no more. It probably remain stock except for paddles. Thought as she gets better she might request (Demand) some bolt ons.

I used to have a yfz and loved it.If your going to buy it brand new get her a 450r.Just because the fact that they have reverse and it will be more comfortable for her.Thats just my opinion. If It was for you then just go with the yfz.Faster, better suspension,Looks a little nicer,And its a yamaha so you cant go wrong.Just go for the one she likes best.

Or the one you can get a better deal on.

Before you buy anything take a look at the Kawi KFX400, Suzuki Ltz400 or the artic cat 400. They are all the same machine just depends on what you want it to look like. Just look on the frame you will find that it is manufactured by Suzuki.

Any one of these machines would be good for your wife. The have a real comfortable seat. They have a more comfortable ride than the 450's. You can turn the handle bars like it had power steering. They have a lower first gear so it is easier to take off and less likely to kill it. They have reverse. Just take one out for a test drive. Take her along and let her ride it as well. Dont test drive it in the parking lot, cause that wont let you know how it rides in the real world.

The YFZ, Trx, and Kawi 450's are designed for the track. I am not saying they are bad machines. If you want to minimize the complaing from the opposite sex then get a machine that will be best for them. I know it isnt as "Cool" to have a Suzuki LTZ400 compaired to a 450 but if you want her to go riding with you and not complaine then take a look at the Z400.

Hey 06banshee,

450r's don't have reverse, you're thinking of a 400ex or z400. Anyway...get the 450r, I rode the yfz before I bought my honda and it beats you to death. The power is really close between them, but drop in the hrc kit and it changes everything. Ergos are great on the honda and the power delivery is smooth.
