hotrodbanshee Posted December 17, 2006 Report Posted December 17, 2006 Installed v3's in my shee and now it misses/cuts out at WOT. When I had stock reeds it ran fine. I had 310 mains installed. The plugs looked to me maybe a little on the light side. I was thinking of going up to 320 mains? Any opinions? When adding V3 reeds will it lean out the carbs some? P.S. Mods below Quote
bansheeseat$$ Posted December 17, 2006 Report Posted December 17, 2006 Go to 360's.I have found that v-3's need atleast five sizes bigger then stock reeds do.Even though they say no jeting required.I had to go up nine once on a cr 125.start there and do some plug chops to see if that is to much or not enough. Quote
dajogejr Posted December 17, 2006 Report Posted December 17, 2006 I would check for air leaks first. Kai and I disagree on this one, but it's all good. I've never had to go more than one size on a main for JUST a VForce installation, sometimes lean out the needle one clip. These reeds actually richen up the midrange...so, the fact you think you're that lean tells me you might have an air leak. Just a thought. Quote
hotrodbanshee Posted December 17, 2006 Author Report Posted December 17, 2006 I sprayed carb cleaner all around the carbs and intake while it was running and no change in engine rpm. That's the only way I know to check for leaks. I would check for air leaks first. Kai and I disagree on this one, but it's all good. hotrodbanshee Posted December 18, 2006 Author Report Posted December 18, 2006 I put in 320 mains and the plugs did not get much darker and still cuts out some. I am going to go up to 360 mains and see what happens. If it starts to bog down on me I will back off a size or too. Quote
jbooker82 Posted December 18, 2006 Report Posted December 18, 2006 Did you trim down the rubber intake boots good enough? I would check that over to make sure. Quote
