sand4ever Posted November 30, 2006 Report Posted November 30, 2006 (edited) I am wondering if I make or buy tip downs for my T-5 will it decrease the noise level. I know that the T-5 makes about 99 dc. so would using tip downs lower that.Just need to get it down a couple points, legal for oregon coast. I really down't want to use the hush kit as it is ugly. Any suggestions or ideas, I know some one else has thought about this. Let me know. THanks Edited November 30, 2006 by sand4ever Quote
Ting Ting Posted November 30, 2006 Report Posted November 30, 2006 Cascade Has a silencer that you can get for the t-5s that have a turn down. Quote
dajogejr Posted November 30, 2006 Report Posted November 30, 2006 Fresh packing and/or the hush kit...probably the most cost effective and easy to do...sorry... Ting Ting....that is one sharp looking ride, very nice!! Quote
nunyabinness Posted November 30, 2006 Report Posted November 30, 2006 where at on the oregon coast are you riding at? i used to ride at houser dunes. my friends banshee had t-5's and he never got into any trouble for them. but then again we never stopped for the cops out there anyways. Quote
csrmel Posted November 30, 2006 Report Posted November 30, 2006 ive seen people put home depot 99 cent elbows on them. the kind of metal plumbing elbows that have a 45 degree bend, not the 90 degree ones. Quote
sand4ever Posted November 30, 2006 Author Report Posted November 30, 2006 Yea some of my friends have gotten stopped. And the T-5 will not pass, so I am thinking before I get stopped I should do something. That hush kit looks like crap, I will not use it. I figured some tip downs would change the decibils (sp) and maybe pass. i think at hors falls the dc is 94 so I am close, Just not worth the $$$$ to not be. Thanks Quote
sand4ever Posted November 30, 2006 Author Report Posted November 30, 2006 Also does anybody have pics of the downtubes they have made. forgot to ask that. I just looked up what dc. were allowed on the oregon coast and it is 93 :: . Thanks in advance Quote
dajogejr Posted November 30, 2006 Report Posted November 30, 2006 You're simply not going to get to 93db with down tubes only. They are rated at 98db from Toomey, and I'm sure that's a brand new stinger with new packing... The Hush Kit claims to get you to 87db. I think you're going to end up fabricating and spending time that will be pointless in the end...to be honest. Quote
Malfnet1 Posted December 2, 2006 Report Posted December 2, 2006 Cascade Has a silencer that you can get for the t-5s that have a turn down. Pardon my retartedness but is there a link for these? Quote

Lepew Posted December 3, 2006 Report Posted December 3, 2006 A lot of people have taken the tubes for the hush kit and turned them down. I went one step further and trimed the tubes down so they didn't look cheasy with 4" of tube pointed down. You can't make the toomeys legal at the oregon dunes without a hush kit. I have heard rumor that the cascade silencers will quiet them more since they are a larger silencer. Me and my wife were tested at the dunes and my Paul Turners were 97DB and her Toomeys were 107DB, it was a courtesy ckeck otherwise we both would have gotten tickets. Her silencers were due for a repack. Quote
Malfnet1 Posted December 3, 2006 Report Posted December 3, 2006 www.cascadeinnovations.net  Thank you! Quote
Barrymaxx Posted December 7, 2006 Report Posted December 7, 2006 (edited) Thank you! Stock silencers will work with the toomery right? Do you still have yours? That MAY get you low enough. Just put the TR sticker on them... Edited December 7, 2006 by Barrymaxx Quote
