kubiac3 Posted November 8, 2006 Report Posted November 8, 2006 Ok so ive lost 30 lbs since I rode the shee last. i weigh about 180 now so i still have plenty of weight to push the tires into the ground, but I cant stop the wheels from spinning on dirt. I mean yeah I can give it less gas but then i dont go as fast. I was wondering what would be the best way to get some power to the ground. I have maxxis razor tires size 20x10x9 and stock gearing. Stock rear suspension too. Pulling a wheelie on dirt is impossible unless i stand on the rear grab bar. Thanks. O and yes my tires do have a decent amount of tread left on them. Quote

I couldn't get enough traction to pull wheelies without standing on the grab bar either, but I had a %100 stock bike. A shortened swingram is the best way to get traction. What other mods do you have. With the insane top end on the banshee and no low end it is hard to get it to hook up in dirt Edited November 8, 2006 by Hollister_Hitman Quote
locogato11283 Posted November 8, 2006 Report Posted November 8, 2006 id say either kenda knarlys or some stock yfz450 tires. those are the best tires ive found to get good traction. Quote
Infamous039 Posted November 8, 2006 Report Posted November 8, 2006 How much tread is on your tires, which could be a problem??? I just purchased a set of RAZR 2 tires thanks to (ellison), and I can pop wheelies in dirt easy from 1st and 2nd gear. If you ride dirt and trails I advise you in purchasing a set of thoughs there great for traction. I have no porting either, just a cool head, 14/41 gearing, open box with prodesign kit, +4 timing, stock suspension, and stock carbs. Quote
baddsheee Posted November 8, 2006 Report Posted November 8, 2006 I am having the same problem, just got the porting done. What about cutting every other row of threads, haven't done it but am thinking about doing it. Quote

Also ride a lot of mud (Louisiana) Kenda Bear Claws are working great for me, but they DO NOT hook up on hard pack. For wheelies or to carry the front end over stuff, I had to learn not to jab the throttle. Still going to spin, but rolling on the gas slower helps. For wheelies, I get going in 2nd, let off the gas and then get back on it (while I sit on the very back of the seat). I'm only 140lbs. I still don't have the timing exactly right. Sometimes it still spins, sometimes good wheelie, sometimes it comes up so fast I have to jab rear brake to keep from going over. Got a buddy that weighs about 200. He slides to the back of the seat, holds steady throttle and slipps the clutch. He can walk wheelies all day long on my bike. He uses the clutch to control the wheel spin. I've tried but just can't do it that away. :geek: Quote
375hp banshees Posted November 8, 2006 Report Posted November 8, 2006 taking off in 2nd or third worked for me until I got paddles gecho's are only $35 & seam to be pretty strong I've been trail ridding W/ stumps roots ect. & I love them havent needed to take them off yet? Quote
4strokessuck Posted November 9, 2006 Report Posted November 9, 2006 With your mods, first gear is a waste of time. Try going +1 on the crank sprockett. The longer gears help control wheelspin. What I do to get a wheelie goin is I get a rolling start in either second or third just under powerband. While you're rolling dump the clutch and you should be on two wheels in a sec. <----------- Thats third on the beach of the Delaware River  Quote
