do some math and figure out yourself

work = distance x force

power = work / time (measured ft/lb/s foot/pounds/second)

lets say you have a 10 pound box that you want to lift 5 feet

to figure out the work involved take 5 x 10 = 50

50 ft-lb of work are involved to lift the box 5 feet

now to get the power take the work and devide it by the time it took lets say 2 seconds to lift the box

50 ft/lbs / 2 s =25 ft/lbs/s

25 ft/lbs/s to lift the 10 pound box 5 ft in 2 seconds

1 horsepower is equal to 550 ft/lbs/s

mark off length of run, weigh your quad and you together, have someone time u. do math

hope this helps....

Right now I'd say you're somewhere between 45 and 50, with the other mods...maybe just above 60. I don't think you'll break 65 without more compression from a head (shaved or domes) and maybe some racegas.

He's not even close to 50 with those mods...

Save your money and get your head shaved .030 and run some race gas.

Since you mentioned porting, have Jeff weld and true your stock crank, too....

You'll probably be in the neighborhood of 65ish once done.

I know someone will disagree, but...at that point...I think those PC pipes will be holding you back...

I figured i was around 40-45. Im getting another head, so im going to shave one of them down and see how i like it.

How much does it cost to get the crank trued and welded? And being as i will probably take it out to get that done, is it hard to take out?

Thanks

Crank is one of the hardest parts to replace because you have to split the cases to take it out. It will take some time to remove it and get it trued and welded.

Removing the crank is definatly more work and a bit more complicated but if your decent with engines and have a clymers you shouldn't have to much of a problem. Getting the crank true&welded ist a bad idea and I belive Jeff does it for around $70(CHECK THE WEBSITE :beer: )

Oh and I think you would really dig that Dune/play port :thumbsup:

Not hard at all as long as you have the tools and the time.

It wasnt hard when I did mines, just time consuming.

Jeff does a killer dune port. I'm enjoying the heck outta mine.

If you have the money, might wanna stick a 4 mill in there too. :evil:

Well im hoping that his play/dune port will really wake up my motor :laugh: If not something is terribly wrong :ermm: I'm still deciding on whether im going to take out my crank this winter or not. Im hopefully going to be sending out my jugs in the next little while to Jeff. Maybe ill get my head shaved and a few other goodies :cool:

For you guys that are running the play/dune port, how much more power did you guys notice, as long as its quite a bit more than stock, im happy :smile:
