jlsparky7 Posted October 3, 2006 Report Posted October 3, 2006 Just thought of an idea that I mooched from the sportbike forum I go to. We need a section on the forum dedicated to walk throughs of how to do certain repairs on a quad. Take a look at this link and you will get what im saying. Here ya go Quote
pipebomb Posted October 3, 2006 Report Posted October 3, 2006 (edited) I agree w/ ya. I made a similar suggestion a while back myself. we did something like that on a couple of other places I frequent and we would put walk-throughs and other threads on the repeat "how do I ......" or "my bike does/doesn't....." questions. it helped cut WAY down on the constant "what's my bolt pattern" or "How do I bleed my Brakes" or the infamous "my bike ides real high, but wants to die when I hit the gas" questions. and by putting all the common ??'s and answers in one spot it also reduced the clutter on the board and aside from the general BS section every board has, our "Useful Info" section gets the most views on the board. here's the one from XCBob http://www.xcbob.com/phpBB/viewforum.php?f=20 Edited October 3, 2006 by pipebomb Quote
jlsparky7 Posted October 4, 2006 Author Report Posted October 4, 2006 Come on people, lets get some more input. Quote
ellison445 Posted October 4, 2006 Report Posted October 4, 2006 Bigred, RNbrad and Meat did a couple of walk through threads I think should be pinned in there.. Quote
Animalman294 Posted October 4, 2006 Report Posted October 4, 2006 It sounds good, and would eliminate some repeat posts and would be good for those that are still unclear how to use the search key........... You really need to run this by Lee, since it is his site and he'll be the one to implement the idea. Then put it to the people for feedback................ Quote
dajogejr Posted October 4, 2006 Report Posted October 4, 2006 I think it should be it's forum...and pinned. Big Red's teardown and RN Brad's leakdown threads are truly priceless. Quote
rkc Posted October 5, 2006 Report Posted October 5, 2006 Sounds good to me. I could contribute with instructional pics on tire inflation! lol Quote
Banshee~ Posted October 5, 2006 Report Posted October 5, 2006 (edited) You might as well but a clymers manual because there wont be a how-to for everything. But some of the how-to's were helpful to such as the polishing one. Edited October 5, 2006 by Banshee~ Quote
BigRed350x Posted October 5, 2006 Report Posted October 5, 2006 I will by putting a stock engine back together here in the next couple weeks. I know a LOT of people wanted a walkthrough for re-assembly but I didn't have time when I put my cub together. If I have time I will be doing a re-assembly walkthrough on a mostly stock engine. If I get all the parts in time I'm trying ot have this engine together and in a frame by the weekend after next. We will see how it all goes. - Jared Quote
RNBRAD Posted October 5, 2006 Report Posted October 5, 2006 I agree and it will give people an incentive to continue this. Clymers are great and all for stock banshee's but most of us deal with aftermarket equipment the Clymers don't cover. I think we can cover things in a much better and more personal/practical manner. It also helps the new members who are not aware of the previous walk-throughs on certain topics. Quote
mavbike Posted October 5, 2006 Report Posted October 5, 2006 Just thought of an idea that I mooched from the sportbike forum I go to. We need a section on the forum dedicated to walk throughs of how to do certain repairs on a quad. Take a look at this link and you will get what im saying. Here ya go OUTSTANDING, I just got my first Banshee (been riding/working on bikes for years) and joined this forum mainly so I could learn about what other people had already tried, what worked, what didn't, and some of those tips and tricks that are not in the service manual. Walk throughs with pics, in addition to the service manual would really be helpfull for those that have no experience working on stuff!! Quote
Animalman294 Posted October 6, 2006 Report Posted October 6, 2006 You've come to the right place............... Quote
bansheerage Posted October 6, 2006 Report Posted October 6, 2006 i really think that would be a great idea. since people like me know a lil something about a banshee but could still use a little more. i think a substantial amount of people would benefit from it even if there not willing to admit it (since they know everything). Im for it  Quote
csrmel Posted October 6, 2006 Report Posted October 6, 2006 im going to have a crack at slotting my stock timing plate this weekend. if anyones interested ill grab some pics and type out a how to guide. Quote
Joshtruction Posted October 7, 2006 Report Posted October 7, 2006 I thaught I replied to this already, but I guess not. I think it would be a rgeat idea!! Quote
