Hollister_Hitman Posted October 4, 2006 Report Posted October 4, 2006 I haven't seen anyone check ever, but then again I've only been to Pismo dunes and Prarie city. Yeah I don't remember them checking at pismo. If you have an enclosed trailer be prepared to open it up for bike inspection here. Spark arrestors and registration. Quote
Animalman294 Posted October 4, 2006 Report Posted October 4, 2006 So they check at Hollister for arrestor's and greenies, ha...............? Quote
Hollister_Hitman Posted October 4, 2006 Report Posted October 4, 2006 So they check at Hollister for arrestor's and greenies, ha...............? Yeah but if we go on the weekdays they don't have anyone at the gate. you dont' have to worry about a red sticker right now but you don't have spark arrestors :: Quote
bigboybanshee Posted October 4, 2006 Report Posted October 4, 2006 WTF is the point of having the red and green stickers? Why can only certain bikes run certain times of the year? Emissions can't be the reason, there isn't anything different about a banshee's engine throughout the years so why are some penalized and others not? This is the most retarded thing I've ever heard, I feel really bad for you all in Cali Quote

They did it to try to get people to buy 4 strokes becuase all the 4 strokes get green stikcers except 1, but it is on of the Kawi 250 dirtbikes. I am just glad they bumped it up form 97' to 03' Quote
r/atvshee Posted October 4, 2006 Report Posted October 4, 2006 so ur saying that i dont have to worry about a red sicker because my banshee is an 01.......what is the point of stickers anyways  Quote

If they tried to give me a red sticker I'd be calling up chase to print me up some green ones, LOL. I've heard about the red/green sticker thing but never knew what it meant until now...I'll be damned if someone is going to tell me when I can and can't ride, that's fucked up, plain and simple Quote

This is the most retarded thing I've ever heard, I feel really bad for you all in Cali Thats what I said the other day, but I don't know if a new law went into effect in '03 that lowered the allowable emissions levels for that and subsequent year models. Which would mean the bike and emissions levels for the bike would be the same, but now anything above a certain level would now be red stickered. Yeah, Cali is really starting to suck these days. If I could find a comparable place to live with this kind of weather and beach access I would. But hurricanes are not my cup of tea either. :yelrotflmao: Quote
Yamahammer Posted October 5, 2006 Report Posted October 5, 2006 you can ride it but only on a track not at on government land. same with the dirt bikes, check this a 450 dirtbike red sticker but the 450 quad green stupid ass shit we deal with in comi california and all other 2 strokes are red and i belive all dirtbikes are aswell, but if you buy a wr450 you can register it for the street and ride it all year, but they stopped that also in 03 0r 04 i think Quote
BigRed350x Posted October 5, 2006 Report Posted October 5, 2006 Heck yeah, photoshop the red sticker pic and replace it with green and send the image to chase. I'm sure he could print you up some green ones. ROFL. Quote

I'm sure he could print you up some green ones. ROFL. DMV sent me a green sticker for my 03 shee. I was happy i thought red sticker was a temp thing. then a month later they sent me a red sticker saying they made a mistake. I think i lost the letter whoops. i guess ill keep my green sticker till 2007. Cant i just buy a 2000 she frame with a title and swap all the parts to get a green sticker? Quote

Yeah I think the frame idea is ok but I am not sure because of the motor #. my vin # has been ran through the computer once at the local riding area to ensure that I was supposed to have a green sticker on my bike. I don't want to know what happens if they catch you with a green sticker on a red sticker bike Quote
Yamahammer Posted October 5, 2006 Report Posted October 5, 2006 i would just say its a new motor and leave it at theat they dont get to involved if you look and act respectfull and have a sparky if its reg to you they will just tell you to park it and dont ride it, happened to a couple of friends i know.no ticket given but if you have a red youre bike looks stolen or pieced together and you have no sparky well then you kind of get what you have coming Quote
warwgn Posted October 5, 2006 Report Posted October 5, 2006 what if you dont have a sticker at all, and you go to cali on vaction to ride? Will just your current registration be good? Quote

I heard if it is registered out of state you can ride it all year, as long as you have your registration with you Quote
