locogato11283
so i just found out theres pieces of piston down in the crank case so im gonna split the cases first time im doing this so i would apreciate it if u guys helped me out thanks you dont have to split the cases for that. if the pieces are small enough theyll come back out. just tip it up and pressure wash the inside of it out. that shit will come out, ive done it before... fun_on_the_sand
That is a very complicated task... I would say that is your graduation from Banshee Shop Get the Clymer's Service Manual, that is the first step all the following steps are described on the manual. Or just do a search on "splitting the cases" on the Forums page and you will find a forum that has a step by step explanation on how to do it. It assumes you already have your engine on a table... I would go for the Clymer's manual There is only one way to be 100% that you got all the pieces of aluminum out of your transmission.... split the cases you dont have to split the cases for that. if the pieces are small enough theyll come back out. just tip it up and pressure wash the inside of it out. that shit will come out, ive done it before... BigRed350x
LOL, you can do both, split the cases then pressure wash everything inside. LOL I use an industrial parts washer to clean my stuff. That or a diesel wash. Makes everything nice & shiny! Check out the link in my signature for the splitting the cases thread, I also think someone posted it above.
locogato11283
There is only one way to be 100% that you got all the pieces of aluminum out of your transmission.... split the cases well its pretty obvious that you dont have any idea what youre talking about..if you did you would know that the crankcase and transmission area are totally seperate and sealed off. there is no way that aluminum from the crankcase is gonna get into the tranny...so, like i said before there is no reason to split the cases. just pressure wash it out. fun_on_the_sand
Guys My most honest appology.... untill a few moments ago I had never seen the shells of the cases like the ones shown on the picture above... I guess I am so afraid of touching the cases that I never really paid attention the the assembly it self. It is more than clear, from that picture that the crankcase and transmission are completly separated Locogato is right, just powerwash it well its pretty obvious that you dont have any idea what youre talking about..if you did you would know that the crankcase and transmission area are totally seperate and sealed off. there is no way that aluminum from the crankcase is gonna get into the tranny...so, like i said before there is no reason to split the cases. just pressure wash it out.
