I bought A banshee and it came with A boost bottle on it.I hear all this bad talk about them and im wondering if I should get rid of mine.Would I gain anything taking it off?I dont have A cross over tube,is there any way to rig up one?Could I just plug the holes or would that hurt the performance.thanks

As long as your bike runs fine with it on , keep it. I borrowed one from some dude camped next to me one time at the dunes just to see what it was like , so I rode around for a few minutes with it on and not noticed one friggen bit of difference. just my .02 cents.

It's a POS in two ways:

1. Takes up valuable room to work on shit, and

2. Eventually the weight will weaken the intake, possibly causing it to crack and leak.

Someone here has got to have a crossover tube they'll give you for shipping....

I'd leave something there. There's a debate on wether or not it's needed....I still use mine...but I've seen plenty plugged...

Yup, mine cracked my right side intake so it was sucking in air like a mother. So i went and bought a couple more cause the other side could go any second as well. And got a cross over tube instead.

how will it weaken the boots? the boost bottle from prodesign is held by 2 bolts on the manifold so there isnt really any wieght bearing on the boots.

Are you saying with prodesign intakes, or stock? I'm talking about stock...and the weight will crack the rubber on STOCK manifolds, right....Bill?

Bill...

I would use aluminum for a few reasons, easier to shape and bend...and, of course lighter.

You could just buy a billet manifold that gets rid of the crossover tube opening altogether. Just make sure your carbs are synced and you really don't need it.
