Iv'e had problems with starting my banshee and keeping it running. I had this problem and then it seemed that it had gone away. Took it out riding road for about 2 hours through trails and out in the pit. I had shut it off and it would not refire. Finally got it running took it around the pit and it just died. It has not ran or had spark since. Its getting fuel and air and the plugs arent fouled. If I have no spark where do I start looking? Is the anyway that I can test to see if its perhaps my coil or the stator? thanks please reply asap .....I wanna try and get some riding time havent been out in a while lol

I'd try new plugs first anyway, even if the old ones don't look fouled. The Clymers manual goes step by step on testing the stator and coil. All ya need is an ohm meter. Plug caps could be loose or the ignition coil come have come unhooked...I had that happen once. Good luck.

i just had the same kinda problem. would run and idle fine until i was wot...then one day riding it just died.had real weak spark if any at all..pulled the coil and replaced it and bam, i had spark again. the coil is prolly the easiest thing to check. make sure its grounded good to the frame mounting points. if u have to grind the paint off of it too...

Yes you can test the stator and coil, it's just a process of elimination; could be plugs, coil, stator, wiring, connectors, CDI, faulty switch...hard to tell from the symptoms but I'd start with the stator and go from there, the FAQ below should have everything you need to find the problem. Good luck.

i had that same kinda problem not too long ago and it was just the spark plugs. they looked great like it was mixed right and running right but the porcelain was cracked on the inside so you would never know and bam it ran just perfect again after that. try that first then go ahead and test al the other components. always start with the easy simple stuff first. hope that helps and keep us posted on what you find
