What kind of riding do you do? What mods do you already have done? The cheetah requires different reeds, and I think maybe a different manifold where your pipes bolt up, but not sure on the pipes.

Well right now i do mostly trail riding but its mostly at the beach. I'm startin gto switch over to the dunes. well so far i have a set of pipes thats it for the engine. do u think i should just scratch the cheetah and go with a smaller cub im not lookin to do any hard core drag racing i just want to have the power to make it up all the big dunes.

You haven't been to "big ones" then. Try and take a stock banshee up chokecherry at St. A's Stock would have a little trouble. How about devils dune? Ever been to UAE? Hell a stock banshee can't get out of deadman at KP.... Keep dreaming.

The nice thing about the cheetah is you con get powervalves and make some good bottom end for the trails. The bad thing is Trinity does the machining. With the cub you can use stock intake. The cheetah uses 250r design. The exhaust is the same.

Trinity doesn't make the Cheetahs (either cubs or big ones). CP Industries makes them. Trinity just happens to be a big seller of them, and the ones that market them the most. Personally I wouldn't get shit from trinity.

Actually, Trinity purchases a bare casting from CP,and they do all of the cnc work. CP does the machining on only the cubs. Trinity sells the Cheetah to other retailers. If you buy a cheetah from any retailer, it came from cp, to trinity, to them. I got this information from both Harry at Trinity, and Calvin Pollet a CP. They also machine the cheetah head body.

I have rode a 472 cheetah p/v and a 421 cheetah cub. I love the powervalves, they have a much better low end. The cubs have to much of a hit like a 80 2- stroke all or nothing. If you are going to do any trail riding the cheetah is the way to go if you can afford it. If you have a ported piped shee you should be able to make it up any hill you want, just not as fast as a cheetah or a cub motor.

My riding buddy has a TRex with power valves and I have a cub. The powervalve engine makes good bottom end and is more of a smooth hit, it will grab you by the collar and pull you around. The cubs like to reach out and punch you right in the face. I would not use the cubs on trails.

Is the t-rex pretty close to the trinity 420cc power kit? I do want something that will help my low end and give it a smoother ride but I dont want it to cut into the top end to much. A little decrease is fine but nuthing major.

I have ridden a t-rex once in the dunes. It ran verry good, but it didn't seem to have as much power as the cheetah. Definatley a smooth powerband, and fun to ride. I was told that the t-rex is just older technology. Just hear say though. One good thing about the t-rex is it is not nickasilled. So if you grenade a piston while on vacation you can get it machined at any qualified shop and your off and running. As apposed to sending it out.
