Whitey Posted July 15, 2006 Report Posted July 15, 2006 (edited) I just bought the PC plastic renew, it does a great job but its nothing more than commercial floor wax. I don't know if this is already common knowledge but I used to scrub and wax floors and the wax we used works and smells exactly the same way. So instead of paying $25.00 for a small bottle you can buy a lifetime supply for $10.00 With that out of the way the stuff does really work. I'm interested to see how well it'll hold up but it definitely puts the shine back into the plastics. Here's some pics: I didn't really take good 'before' pictures but here's what it did look like: Edited July 15, 2006 by Whitey Quote
fastbanshee8 Posted July 15, 2006 Report Posted July 15, 2006 Any kind of degreaser, or petroleum based product, will take the PC Renew off of your fenders. I tried it once before, and it was more of a hassle than it was worth. You spend all that time sanding the plastics, and putting the renew on, and it doesn't take much of anything, to peel it off, or wash it off. It needs to be more permanent, and more chemical resitant. Just my .02. Quote
Justintoxicated Posted July 15, 2006 Report Posted July 15, 2006 Wow that looks good. Did you have to send your plastic or did you just apply it? How much work is it? is it something you can rub on after you wash the ATV? Quote
fastbanshee8 Posted July 15, 2006 Report Posted July 15, 2006 If your plastic is really scratched, and dirty, then you must wet sand it, to get the best results. It takes a lot of time, to do all of the plastic, if you do it according to directions. Quote
23champ Posted August 9, 2006 Report Posted August 9, 2006 I've never used it before, but I always heard that it worked good if you follow the instructions. Quote
RIPPEN Posted August 17, 2006 Report Posted August 17, 2006 I used the kit and was really happy with it.. I think it actually took 5-6 hours to do the whole deal but it did turn out pretty good. My plastics were pretty rough before I did it so I noticed a big difference.. Ill probably do it again this winter.. RIPPEN Quote
gipperz Posted August 17, 2006 Report Posted August 17, 2006 I've used it and still have some left over. I believe it is a latex resin with co-solvents, I've been making paint for 15 years and it looks, smells and applies like latex resin. Not real strong but it does give a high gloss finish which most people are attracted to. Just my .02 I'll use it again till I can afford full bores. Quote
WALLACE84 Posted August 17, 2006 Report Posted August 17, 2006 Damn, your bike looks good! I was gonna buy some plastic renew for my shee but I never ended up doing it. I might have to try it now Quote
differentstrokes Posted August 21, 2006 Report Posted August 21, 2006 The PC stuff does work good, but it comes off pretty easy. I used it on my honda, which is black, and it makes a big difference on darker plastics that show scratches real easy. Anybody have a specific name for the wax or resin people mentioned? Also where to buy it? I might pick a jug up if it's really cheap. Quote
Animalman294 Posted August 22, 2006 Report Posted August 22, 2006 That stuff looked like it worked pretty good. I'll have to try it some time................. Quote
Shee-Male Posted August 22, 2006 Report Posted August 22, 2006 Ived used it on my shee as well, but if any feul gets on it, it comes right of, before you know it your a slave to the plastic renew, always applying it cause the plastics look so bad when it starts to come off. I am also interested to see if floor wax will work. need a little more info. Quote
race-a-holic Posted August 22, 2006 Report Posted August 22, 2006 I sold some fenders,hood,etc... to one of my friends for his banshee. The plastic looked pretty rough and faded. He used some of this plastic renew on it and the results were amazing.I wouldn't have believed this stuff would work this good but I saw how bad they was before. knight_ripper Posted August 24, 2006 Report Posted August 24, 2006 SIMPLE GREEN. spray it on .... spray it off. wd40 when your done. cleans and shines....and the wd keeps off the mud. works great. if the scratches is what your looking to git rid of ... PC renew will work...if they are just dull....do as above. Quote
