Paddles have a leak around bead, fixable?

I noticed that the inside of my rims are dented and there's a slow air leak coming from that area.

 

I'm wondering if anyone else has this problem, and if the rim is dented and leaking air, can it be 'beat' back in to shape? Anything else I can do to fix this? Is there anything I can do to the tire if the rim is good and the tire isn't?

Pull the tire off the wheel and beat the wheel back into shape as best you can with a rubber mallet. When you put the tire back on make sure everything is completely clean and then pour some gas on the both the beads of the tire. Makes the rubber really slick and easy to get the tire on and then usually seals up well. When you seat the bead leave alot of air in the tire for a few hours before letting the air out to where it needs to be. Should do the trick.

Yes, I have had to beat the crap out of a couple of my rims too. They are easy to fix but just make sure you hit in the right place to make them round again and not worse............ :beer:

I just put a tube in my tire when it stopped holding air. No adverse affects that i know of from it.

my brother in law broke his bead down and put silicone along the bead. it held.

 

not saying its not po dunk but it worked make a super bead.

Pop the bead, they sell a product at the local A&A called "Bead-Saver" it works like a champ, if oyu can find a similar product rub it around the entire beadt then reseat, let the air hold for 3 hours then let the pressure out to what you run it to. :beer:

I bent my dougals 190's to the point that one wasn't holding air and just took a hammer and a piece of food to try and not dent the aluminum, i just beat them with the tire on and one the banshee and got it sealed.
