fast500#12 Posted May 24, 2006 Report Posted May 24, 2006 i have been researching differnet options for a bullet proof tranny and cryo treatment came up. i was wandering if any had it done and if it really works. i have read abit on it and it makes sense to me. any info would be appreciated. i think i will also be going with the duneable override, if i can't get the cash for that does any one make stronger than stock shift forks. or are there any street bike trannys besides the rz350's that will fit in a banshee? fast500#12 Posted May 24, 2006 Author Report Posted May 24, 2006 i just don't want it strong i want is to shift good to. Quote
lowriderb Posted May 24, 2006 Report Posted May 24, 2006 cryo'ing the trans helps with the strenth to an extent, but you should be good with the smaller motors. the override should shift really easy and be almost no notchyness to the shifting... with the bigger motors its usually 2nd gear that goes anyways which a few places sell billet 2nds.. Chemical Castration Posted May 24, 2006 Report Posted May 24, 2006 it's just a waste of money to make your tranny any stronger with the mods listed in your sig. banshee trannys are really strong. the only people that are having any problems with their stock trannys are the guys running the huge monoblock engines. there's a bunch of things you can do to shift smoother, you can modify the shift star, get a dunable override, get a fork from jeff @ FAST etc. etc.. i rode a bike with one of jeffs forks and it shifted real smooth. lonestar Posted May 25, 2006 Report Posted May 25, 2006 IMO, Anything over 100 h.p.should be done. It won't make it shift any better. All that it does it neutralizes the molecules in the steel stabilizes it stronger. Information was from Jeff Reed over at www.300 below.com cryonitics. He does many transmitions on a yearly bases on atv's. Jeff at fastoys has my motor right know that's on the top of the list to be done. Quote
Animalman294 Posted May 26, 2006 Report Posted May 26, 2006 Cryo!? I've never even heard of anyone doing that, well except for Walt Disney and he hung around a 5 foot mouse with a permanent smile on his face (somethin' fishy there). Just yankin' your chain, good luck with that buddy.......... You have to so some serious modding to get into the 125 horsey range......... Quote
badassbanshee479 Posted May 26, 2006 Report Posted May 26, 2006 guy that cut my override cyroed my tranny for me while he waited for some parts he needed to put it back together, told me I would have the tranny back in a week but since it took longer than expected he cyroed it for free. I did not even bitch about it taking so long he just went ahead and did it for me. hell of a guy imo. he only charges 50.00 to do it if you want his number pm me and I can hook ya up. Quote
