I would like to polish out my clutch cover soon and was wondering what type of tips do you use for your dremel to polish with and remove the paint on the cover. Any info would be great.

use paint stripper to take off the paint, then theres like a round/disk-looking wire brush/wheel thing that goes on the dremmel, you'll need about 10 of these things to do the clutch cover, after you have thoughrouly done the cover with the dremmel hit it with 1000 grain sand paper, 2000 grain, and then mothers mag and aluminum polish. it should come out pretty blingin :whoa:

Dremel will be about 50x more work than a die grinder w/ some roloc discs.

Agreed...A dremel might be OK for the really tight spots, but overall you'd be spending a LOT of time trying to polish it with a dremel. You could have it done in an hour or two with the die grinder. :shrugani:

Last cover I polished I just sanded the paint off, then started polishing it with compound and a die grinder. If you want it to really shine, I've found that starting off with a 200 grit paper, then 400, then 800, 1000, and final wet sand with 2000 grit paper...then start your polishing.

Pick up a can of Mother's Billet polish to use after you're done with the buffing wheel, it helps to get all the leftover compound off and leaves the metal with a brilliant shine.
