87banshee350 Posted April 10, 2006 Report Posted April 10, 2006 well i did a search and found nothing, so heres the question, at low idle theres a noise that kinda sounds like a bad bearing and it sounds like its comming from the front spocket area, and at any rpm above a low idle it goes away. it started after riding dirt and rock trails, and didnt do it until i was pulling it up on the trailer and just before i killed it (steep trailer ramp) it made the noise for the first time, tranny and lower motor are all stock. thanks for any help Quote
FasterThanU90 Posted April 10, 2006 Report Posted April 10, 2006 hmm i had the same prob i think it was a pin or sumthin on the side of the crank Jeff at Fast said it gouged the hell outta the inside of my case it sounded kinda like a bearing or sumthin Quote
RedRustler Posted April 10, 2006 Report Posted April 10, 2006 it could be piston slap but not likely. did you over heat the bike on the trails? or getting on the clutch hard on the trails and now you have a clutch housing knock due to the rubber fittings behind the clutch basket Quote
87banshee350 Posted April 10, 2006 Author Report Posted April 10, 2006 the top end is new like 20 hours on it runs great other than the noise, i dont think i overheated it, i was pretty hard on the clutch though Quote
bansheeseat$$ Posted April 10, 2006 Report Posted April 10, 2006 Check your drive and driven gears (crank gear and clutch basket gear)You may have chiped the gears.Sounds just like you have a crank bearing bad. Quote
87banshee350 Posted April 11, 2006 Author Report Posted April 11, 2006 (edited) i pulled the cover and all the gears look good, how do i check my crank bearing, what do i have to pull off to get to the bearing Edited April 11, 2006 by 87banshee350 Quote

87banshee350 Posted April 13, 2006 Author Report Posted April 13, 2006 (edited) well now i think its the clutch, i messed with it more and it sounds more like a chatter, and i can feel it on the clutch cover. so my question is at low idle (almost to die) can something wrong with the clutch cause a chatter sound (in nutral) Edited April 13, 2006 by 87banshee350 Quote
