After rebuilding the engine this month I finally reached the last part of bolting the new noss head down and I set the tq to 1lb and it snapped it right off :( Checkers is going to get it about this wrench because I cant tq anything it wont give away. I ever tried on my car and it just keeps pulling with me. So now whats my choices im broke and pissed off....... God i was looking forward to starting it today.

Atorque wrench is not tool that should only cost $15. I belive if your gonna torque something down you should use a good name torque wrench like snap-on or mac tools. The only thing I can think of is to cut rest of stud off and drill it out and tap threads out. Try soaking with some good penetrating oil first.

So you broke the nut? Or the stud itself? If you only broke the top of the stud off just take it out and replace it...? Either way, sounds like an eazy fix.

drill the stud but dont tap it .... get a ez out and the stud will come right out without harming the threads make sure to use the correct bit size for the ez out too.

Just take off all the other nuts and pull the head off. Then use some vise grips or something and unscrew the stud that broke. Get a new on and put it back in. Put the head back on and go for a ride. I always just use a wratchet and socket to tighten the head bolts. After about an hr of riding I check them to see if they are loose but they are always tight and good to go.
