DIRTMAN350 Posted March 29, 2006 Report Posted March 29, 2006 Hey guys been searching for about an hour now for results and got alot of mixed answers. I would like to install a ricky stator timing plate on my shee. I was wondering if i need to rejet or can i get away with uping my octane rating. I run Klotz 32:1 now. 93 octane rating on the fuel that i use now. My mods are in my sig. Thanks for your help. Quote
broke Posted March 29, 2006 Report Posted March 29, 2006 You might need to do both, the plugs will tell you. Quote
Wicked98Shee Posted March 29, 2006 Report Posted March 29, 2006 would step up to some 100 low lead and run the klotz at 40:1 .. i was runnin 32:1 and switched to 40:1 it smokes less and the throttle response seems better too. Quote
Wallrat Posted March 29, 2006 Report Posted March 29, 2006 Advancing the timing always seems to make it run leaner. I have no idea why actually but that's just what I've noticed. What's your elevation? If its sea level then I wouldn't do more than 2 degrees advance. Quote

More oil, is a richer mix. I've never heard of someone melting this pistons from running too rich. Lets not start this again, potato/pa-ta-toe... thanks. Throw some race fuel in your 93 mix, depending on your elevation, this may be a nessessity. If you're really worried about it leaning out then bump your main up a size or two. It has become more common for people to use those terms when describing oil fuel ratio, but it isn't correct. When you use less oil, your fuel air ratio will be richer, you have more gas. If you add more oil, you have less gas, so your running lean. Quote
