PUSH THE THROTTLE Posted March 22, 2006 Report Posted March 22, 2006 bullshit. you would NEVER catch me pullin 4 bikes with one axle..thats trouble waiting to happen... 490947 I agree I'd be going with the tandem if it were me. I just translated what I could. I could be off on what he said but I thought I'd take a stab at it. His sig is english why aren't his posts? Quote
420 RACING Posted March 22, 2006 Report Posted March 22, 2006 bullshit. you would NEVER catch me pullin 4 bikes with one axle..thats trouble waiting to happen... 490947 Yup I hear that,I've been haulin ass up the e-way at 85 and had a blowout. With my tandem axle you really don't even notice. But on my snowmobile trailer, single axle. It will go all over the road. Mans finest words 2 is better than 1!!! Quote
ellison445 Posted March 22, 2006 Report Posted March 22, 2006 Exactly what I was thinking Cuatro ruederos nunca estar Quote
racer Posted March 22, 2006 Report Posted March 22, 2006 i translated it to mean: Four wheelers never will be sufficient heavy to justify a second axis. You only need a single trailer of axis for four wheelers. i believe this is untrue for a few reasons. 4 banshees weigh about 1600-1650 pounds with fuel and no extras. four grizzlies weigh about 2400 pounds with no fuel and no extras. but to fit four of any fullsize quad on any trailer youre going to need 16 ft or more. so a 16ft trailer with a 2500# cap, or higher will need a tandem just so it will pull better. brock_fuzzy_69 Posted March 22, 2006 Report Posted March 22, 2006 just estimate a weight of 500 per quad byt he time you put all you other stuff on the trailer as well yeah a tandem would be nice to have Quote
PUSH THE THROTTLE Posted March 23, 2006 Report Posted March 23, 2006 then yes get the crunch wrap tongue. 491264 Do you get those at Taco Smell? Quote
MILO Posted March 23, 2006 Report Posted March 23, 2006 the 'wrap' looks like it has more surface mounted to the trailer, and would be more sturdy... go with the wrap. Quote
als660r Posted March 25, 2006 Report Posted March 25, 2006 What are you pulling the trailer with. If useing a heavy 3/4 ton I would get a 16 or 18 ft enclosed that way you gain storage and a wam dry place to sleep on overnight rides Quote
Dinner Posted March 26, 2006 Report Posted March 26, 2006 We have a tandem axle, tilt trailer that has a double acting hydraulic jack to tilt it. Then you just drive up onto it and have someone release the pressure and it comes back down then lock it in place. Its not a wrap tongue but its a nice trailer, we have had WAY more than 2400 Lbs on it hauling scrap, and it rides nice. Just a thought about getting a tilt one Quote
