Anti Fade nut

Can you replace the 2 factory nuts on the axle? I see alot of people inquiring about them and was wondering if i could use a aftermarket one on my stock axle. Thanks for your input.

Yes you can replace them. I bought one off of Ebay, and it came from Shark Racing. It has a tool, that it comes with, to tighten the nut, and it has 2 allen head bolts, that you tighten down, to lock it in place. No more pipe wrenches. Works real good.

Anti-fade is a honda thing I believe. Yes you can replace the locknuts. Several companies make them but most are aluminum. Problem w/ that is you've got 2 small bolts that you gotta tighten. Aluminum strips REALLY easily. I believe both Duncan and Team Industries makes one out of stainless.

but heres my opinion on them.

 

wallrat already noted the ease of stripping al so why put yourself in that position in the first place? it just seems like a bad idea to keep your steel axle in place with an aluminum nut. they are easier to install, but on the flip side: if those bolt that put the nut in a bind on the axle come loose nothingis holding it in place. two jam nuts, properly torqued, will never ever come loose. another benefit to that is you can apply grease or antisieze to the threads, i wouldnt trust that with my alum nut.
